First time Amiga owner.
Greetings!
I recently acquired an NTSC A2000 and I'm working on getting it up and running. It had sat in storage and came with no keyboard, mouse, or cables, but did come with a shoebox full of software on floppy disks and has 2 working floppy drives in it, no expansion cards installed, and a leaky battery that I immediately removed and cleaned up as best I could for now. It worked after cleaning up the board as far as booting into Workbench 1.3 and the second floppy drive detecting a disk, but I couldn't do much else. Now (After trying to install an expansion card and getting only a blank screen) it won't turn on and the fan on the PSU doesn't even spin even with both drives and the main board disconnected from it. I'm looking forward to getting this thing up and running. As much as I'd love to find an old Commodore monitor to use with it, I'll be using a GBS-8220 to connect it to one of the LCD monitors I have sitting about. I've got a 68010 CPU on the way and a GVP A2000-HC2 SCSI card to put in there once I get all the cables and some repairs sorted out for it. |

Welcome!
I have no 2000 anymore, but if the power supply has a fuse, it would be among the first things to check. You can also ensure you push the power cable properly back in. If you have a multimeter you can measure if you have power out from the power supply. Avoid causing any shorts. You will need a keyboard and a mouse to do something obviously. If you have trouble finding one, I think you can get a new mouse from AmigaKit. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to get a keyboard. It may be possible to find an adapter for some other keyboard. |

I was planning on picking up an adapter that allows USB keyboards to be used because A2000 keyboards seem to be going for close to $100 right now and that's close to what I paid for the machine. Same idea for the mouse too. I figure hooking them up through USB switch boxes would allow me to operate both the A2000 and the PC without cluttering the desk its on more than it needs to be.
It looks like some A2000 PSUs have a fuse, I'll have to check it out later this week. |

It really would be worth paying the $100 for a proper keyboard. The A2000 keyboard is lovely to type on.
