![]() I still live at home... house rental prices are insane around here (and even more insane to buy) Basically to rent a 1 bedroom flat would cost me 80% of my months wages and I wouldn't be able to afford council tax, electricity, water AND food... so I'd have to go without one... lol But me and a couple of mates r gunna try and rent a place together sometime next year to make it affordable... But at home I got all the space I need anyway... very big bedroom (little floorspace remains though), a couple of sheds and a small outside (brick) room.. lol Oh.. and the garage too.. So I'm in no rush.... and I'm only 24, got a few more years yer b4 it becomes desperate ![]() |

Rent + bills is usually about 50-60% of pay. You seem quite technically competant from our conversations. Surely you take home more than minimum wage? 40hrs per week? Quote:

Stay at home with your Mum for as long as you can!
Try and meet a girlfriend with a big house... and a curiosity for old computers... |

Well, simple flat rental around here is about £700pcm.. U can work out how much I get paid from that.. lol The problem is, living in cornwall there's not much call for anyone in computers... So I'm a lowly technician at a school.. lol Although I'm perfectly capable of managing a whole network and writing network support apps, there's just no call for it here.. and I don't really wanna move away if I can help it! I do some freelance coding on the side though, but that's not guaranteed income, so I don't count it.. Quote:
