A1200 CF Problems

Just got around to installing the new 030 and compact flash into the Amiga 1200

I have a 4GB Compact flash card (Partitioned into DH0 1911MB DH1 996MB and DH2 901MB

For some reason its only showing DH0 and not the other partitions even though they are listed in HDToolbox

Any ideas?

Thanks John

Is there any reason to use SFS when FFS supports up to 8GB?

Also tried this last night. With the Filesystems should they be 2 for the one device? I deleted the FFS and went with SFS only and it didn't mount any volumes on restart.

Also any way to get the drive back to defaults. Looks like I probably could do with starting from scratch.

EDIT

Here is a screenshot of my partitions

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I have DH0 (Which is labeled Empty on WB Desktop) DH1 (Not visible) HD2 (Not visible)

Thanks

I've read this before in another forum. But I don't remember if there was a fix or if it was just an incompatible CF card. Could also be that the CF card is a fake, i.e. only 2gig although labelled 4gig or something similar.

If you run System/Format from the Workbench disk, are DH1 and DH2 shown in the list?

You could put the card into an USB reader, connect it to your PC and format it.

Or use this command line tool on the Amiga: http://thomas-rapp.homepage.t-online...ds/killrdb.lha

Probably a good idea

Tried using UAE and came across the same problems.

Its IDE connected (But I think the Amiga thinks its SCSI0) via one of these

Thanks for the guide John

Thought I would give it one last go before I go off to eBay to buy another card and it's working! Not sure why tonight it works and last night it would barely manage one partition. It's using the default file system and I modified the max transfer as recommended.

So far so good
