1. Kick Off 2 - The Final Whistle. (Must've worn a hole in that floppy)
2. Speedball 2 3. Turrican 4. Frontier: Elite 2 (If only they didn't do the silly Newtonian physics, would have been #1) 5. Syndicate |

It's really hard to settle on 5. I guess about 20 games would be my absolute favourites from back then. However, let's mention (the best?) five of them:
- Another World - F/A 18 Interceptor - Indy 500 - Prince of Persia - Stunt Car Racer but only because I played Bards Tale II, Elite, Pirates and ZakMcKracken mainly on the C64 before |

Hybris (because it still stands the test of time today)
Kick Off 2 (because it's a super footy game) Transplant (because it's an awesome PD shoot em up) Shadow of the Beast (because it ended the Atari ST) Agony (because it shows off what the Amiga can do) I purposely put in games that were built for the Amiga (Kick off 2 might be the exception though). |

Robocod
SWOS Mega lo Mania FG15 Strike Eagle 2 F1GP Tough as I had a few others that could be on this list, so I thought of it as if I were stuck on an island with only 5 games to play. Such as BC Kid, but Robobcod is better. Wing Commander - too slow for an A500, ditto Frontier. Stunt Car Racer - I think f1GP pips that one. etc...ABC Boxing and Panza Kickboxing come close as well. |

The "on an island" question needs more details though. Is it an island with a magical electricity socket, or are you going to be without a computer once whatever battery solution you have runs out?
If the former I would start to select games for their replayability, if the latter I would pick games I desperately need to play before it is all over, which means I will probably select games I have never played before |

My favorites in no particular order:
Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 Hours and hours of duels with a friend Speedball 2 Also a must play with a friend for countless sessions Skweek Just the right balance of getting power ups and losing them Rock'n'Roll Loved the music. Populous Great and original game concept. |

Oh well… as some have remarked before, any such list is fated to change in the five minutes after posting. But anyway, here is my scientific approach
* No games for which clearly superior versions exist on another system (example: Civilization) * No games which have superior sequels/prequels on another system (example: while the first Monkey Island is excellent on the Amiga, part 2 is the better game and much better in its original PC version) * No games which have huge potential, which I somehow admire, but can't play well myself (examples: Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder) * No games which have a huge historical importance, but sort of suck (example: Defender of the Crown) * No games which show their greatness only on a more powerful machine (example: the Zeewolf games, while working on an A500, turn much more fluid on a A1200) * No games which are not great all throughout (example: The Clue, amazing mid-game, but awful endgame) So, without further ado, my ultra objective (unsorted) list: Pirates! Amazing game full of adventure and emerging storytelling. Vastly improved Amiga port with beautiful graphics and music. The Settlers The game which still makes me go wow considering how much they got out of a plain A500 type machine. All those things which are going on there at the same time… it's just so relaxing to play, to watch, to enjoy! It Came From the Desert Each mini game by itself is nothing to write home about, but for once, Cinemaware really tied everything together perfectly. Nothing feels out of place. Characters and plot are a perfect tribute to those horror movies of my childhood. (It was a close call with Wings) Lemmings Endless fun, greatest two player game ever? When most others had switched to 3D shooters for their "LAN parties", I was still bringing my Amiga for this one. The Chaos Engine Best "multimedia" production of its era. Great graphical designs (the original OCS version beats all those later lollipop coloured ones), perfect mix of highly dynamic music, sound effects and voices. Tough as nails, but almost always fair.
