Amiga Super Mario Bros. ?
Just wondering if anyone knows of any attempts to remake Super Mario Bros. for Amiga? There's been a few Sonic bits and pieces over the years, but apart from one video of an early attempt (looked to have potential) Ive never seen anything of Super Mario.
Im quite surprised, its not nearly as ambitious a game as some of the platformers on the amiga. Oh, just to clarify, Im talking about actual SMB, not clones. |

Amiga is too small for Great Giana Sisters and Super Mario Bros.

I started on a Mario clone back in 96 or 97. I had place-holder graphics and basic scrolling and collision detection going but lost interest in it. It's not something I'll pick up on again but thought I would share anyway.

Thanks. It does run perfectly smooth and in 60 FPS actually, it's just YouTube that has butchered the video. Not that it's a technical feat or anything, there's hardly anything happening on the screen.

Be cool if someone managed to make this game playable on something other than a 25MHZ Amiga with 8MB of RAM.

That looks really impressive, very quick! Good luck, enthusiasm and motivation is the most important thing so I hope you maintain that

@Dreedo
If it makes you feel better the majority of new 68k games on aminet dont run on my a1200+40mhz '040 + 32 meg fast RAM either Unfortunately it appears that a large amount of new "68k" software is only really usable on an emulator. I love my amithlon box, but its a shame my trusty ol' a1200 doesnt get as much "new" software to play with. Back on topic, but Ive decided to have a crack at a Super Mario Remake myself. Glad to see BooBoo's game is based on super mario3 too, as mines just a remake of SMB1. |

That looks great, and you've got the music and monsters going and everything! You should keep working on it.
