I'm not so sure how to ask about it now.
I think something changed (to do with IP) after the C64 version. His FB page might be personal, but is set up like a fan page. You can like & message, but not friend. This is like or similar to Geoff Crammond (Stunt Car Racer), and Jon Hare (Cannon Fodder). Obviously I've been starting from the top. I want the distribution of a major title. I find this 500 Amiga titles story so much more difficult to believe. It seems like it would take a huge amount of work. EDIT, something I meant to say there, but didn't, is it might not be a good idea to remind him that Turrican has potential. He also has an official fan site, that at least has news updates from him, but has no contact. The copyright messages are rather odd, and from what I read here, it does look like he is tip toeing slightly, over images of his own work. A sad state of affairs, if all that is correct. I preferred to not ask...
It's like a movie that you walk in 20 minutes late... it just doesn't make any sense |

It was late...
Contacting Manfred Trenz over licensing of Turrican is not only difficult, but now looks to also pointless and insensitive if he has lost control over it. Similarly, other authors of top titles appear to be difficult to even contact. The game authors Jon Hare, and Geoff Crammond have personal FB pages, but privacy settings prevent strangers messaging them. I imaging Geoff might actually let something happen with SCR because you wouldn't do any native modern port of it... you'd just update the game, as he has continued to do. So this is why I find this Amiga Games deal difficult to swallow. |
