Define 'Should be working'. I need an A2000 board but 'should' sounds like kind of a gamble to me.

It was working about a year ago when I was troubleshooting a problem which turned out to be the PSU. I'll pull my current board out of my machine and test it though if you want. I'll start on that right now, actually.
Any of the parts that say "should" be working, were actually working when I used them last, and they should be working now. I just haven't taken them out and gone through the process of installing them to make sure. The items that say "unknown" are those that I haven't tested at all. Either because I don't have what I need to test them, or I never tried them out in the first place. They just came with a batch of other stuff. |

OK, price and condition updated. Made a startling discovery. When I first turned it on, got a red screen (kickstart failure.) Discovered that the 2.04 chip I had put in it when I packed it away was actually a 2.05. Reading the kickstart versions, 2.05 was only made for the 600 to support specialized HW. Don't know if that had anything to do with it, but I pulled it and moved my 2.04 chip from my A2000 over and now I get a green screen (Chip RAM failure.) Played with the jumpers a bit (every last one was open for some reason. After about an hour decided to just sell it as non-functional. So, good call on that. It "was" working, though I was wrong, it was closer to 2 years ago. I remember putting my extra "2.04" chip in in and packing it away as a backup/parts piece.

For the A2000 - try reseating the Agnus chip. Common problem for boards that have been stored for a long time that green screen.

That's the third thing I did. First I swapped the 2.05 kickstart out for the 2.04 (known to work fine in a 2000, because it was in my other board.) Then I migrated all my jumpers. Then I reseated the Agnus. Reseated the Denise. I went back over the jumpers again. I gave it up as a lost cause.

I reseated everything on mine. Mine had a leaked battery and some of the pins of the cpu socket were pretty bad so I ordered and replaced it but still no go. I need to start tracing signals.

That EMPLANT board is the Deluxe model, and based on the red labeled PEEL chip, it also has the e586DX upgrade. It's worth more than $50 if it works.

PCx can use the EMPLANT (as can FUSION) for better compatibility. The red PEEL unlocks one of the VIAs on the EMPLANT so it can function as the system timer for the PC. It can generate interrupts and such more accurately than the Amiga's multitasked interrupt system can.

I'm afraid not forgot about this thread, need to close it down. May have a few bits of if left, but most of it's gone.

Don't currently have any Amiga HW available. Have some IDE hard drives & PC hardware sitting in a box. Have some software & manuals I haven't organized in ages. That's about it, right now
