Sinclair QL Emulation

i found something at amiga.org. talking about runing SinclairQl using winuae and a special kickstart:
http://www.amiga.org/modules/newbb/v...=48448&forum=9

Quote:
If you know the Sinclair QL emulator for Amiga QDOS Classic, maybe you know the KICK Rom for UAE that boots like a Sinclir QL, I have tested this KICK Rom on Minimig, but all I get is a RED screen and 2 o 3 second later a BLUE screen, I have tested this KICK Rom on latest version of WinUAE and I get the same result. Anyone knows how to make this KICK Rom to work on UAE or Minimig?
i came to the same result, at least for winuae - i dont own a minimig. does anyone have an idea, how it may work?

Edit: the readme of the kick.rom ( http://www.mswift.unisonplus.net/ql/index.html ) says something about TK2 (ToolKit2), you can find here: http://www.dilwyn.uk6.net/pe/index.html Bottom of the page (tk2ext.zip).
tried the special kickstart with injected tk2, but same result, as described above.

Edit2: can anyone tell me, how to start the debugger (using latest beta). enabled it in a configfile (use_debugger=true) and read about "F12+D" but this opens the config gui only.

I don't see how this code can work.

ROM setups something and then jumps to address zero which does not contain any 68000 code..

I can see it needs at least 2M Chip to work. Not sure about other requirements.

debugger hint: f fc0008 and reset = break at the start of rom.

Just do as DDNI says.

I don't know how vital to adf images are, but make sure you've got both of those inserted to. (Edit: doesn't see to matter reading the website)

After further testing it seems to work on any AGA amiga setting. (a1200, a4000 or CD32)

Thanks, Ian!

Hmm... I wonder why hit couldn't get it working? And Toni didn't seem to think it would work at all!

I used the most obvious configuration (for me), selected some A500-style configuration, noticed it uses 2MB chip and resets cache and vbr only if 68020+ -> 68000 + 2M chip "should" work. Which was wrong assumption..

So, would it be fair to say this is Sinclair QL+ emulation then?

its somewhat cool, a working QL and an Atari ST (to be released hopefully once) by "tweaked" kickstarts.
does anyone have an amiga.org account and could tell Namek about the progress?! TIA.

Never mind Namek, someone should tell Ratte about the enthusiasm for the working QL which has been brought about by its being freely available. After all, just a patch could achieve this for KickTOS.
