Yes and the Amiga version was a great conversion! Better than others and even the ST version...

Sega GEnesis got the best conversion anyway.
Moved this to Retrogaming General Discussion! (You obviously are not looking for a ROM anyway, for Amiga game ROMs do not exist ) |

The music in the C64 version kicks any versions's (even arcade) ass.

But the game itself wasn't very good on the C64 and was of the "baddy walks upto you in a straight line" type mould that looked out-dated in 1985. Why on earth it received rave 90%+ reviews is beyond me.

Oh yEaH! One of the best tunes by Jeoren Tel ever. Especially the title tune. LOVET IT! But the c64 conversion is really crap. Dawm slow and very lousy graphics. |

*Runs from axe-wielding Akira* Re C64 Golden Axe-I think it was probably Mark Kelly/Steve's Crow's "Turbo Out Run" presence in C64 Golden Axe that led to the C64 game getting a boosted score. In their efforts of getting the approximate look "right", it was prob. easy for the reviewers to convince themselves they'd done it again. To be fair though,as was pointed out in a Zzap preview they did have major technical hurdles to contend with-probably too ambitious with what they tried to do. |

The day I grabbed pc-task I tried to emulate the ms dos version on a PLAIN a1200. The menus worked fine, perhaps I could see a graphical screen or two if I had waited long enough.
