KryoFlux - Write what you want!
It's been some time... and we said we'd make it happen one day. So without further ado... here it is:
KryoFlux v2.50 with write support for STREAM files. Just dump a disk and write it back. No analysation (which we still recommend) required. Here is the changelog: http://forum.kryoflux.com/viewtopic....5&p=7946#p7946 If you have a KryoFlux, just go straight to the downloads: http://kryoflux.com/?page=download Ports are being worked on. If you don't have a KryoFlux... go figure. |

This feature and its future heavily depend on community feedback. So give it a try and let us know how it works for you.

Hang on... so you can dump a disk? then make a complete copy of it by writing it back to an 880k disk?
Looks like I might need to purchase one again... but I only want to dump one disk ( Player Manager pre-release version ) Anyone in the US willing to do this for me? Last edited by prowler; 11 October 2014 at 22:48. Reason: Back-to-back posts merged. |

Yes, that's what it does.
There are many units in the US, so I am sure there must be some users online here as well. |

No, it's a warning - those are custom made drives that can image flippy disks (e.g. both sides of C64, Apple etc which is impossible with a stock PC drive), and are only available via pre-order.
Seeing a value like that will stop buying them without reading how to order them properly |

And there's a red bold warning/explanation on that page which explains this but people seem to be unable to read red bold text.

Guess something is just lost in translation here, but the website clearly states why the item is listed with the high price (maybe not the best way to deal with it, but still better than just a warning text in my opinion). The price is not 'for the final result', so please read the text on the item carefully again.

Maybe is my fault...
€999.00 incl. VAT, plus shipping fees This product is currently not available and can not be purchased! The sentence "This product is currently not available and can not be purchased!" is in blod red... no more bold red text there. After visit this site using other computer i see the disclaimer clearly: Important: These drives are pre-order items; you can not buy this item if you have not reserved before via email. If you do buy this item without a valid reservation, your purchase will be refunded. THIS IS NOT THE REAL PRICE OF THE PRODUCT! My fault... sorry for my comment. Any hint in which browser this text can't be read would be very much appreciated.
The reason why it is like it is: we have only very few drives from time to time. People can enqueue this way. Thanks! |

So I assume it is safe to say that the issue is/was on your end.

KryoFlux - Write what you want!
Well, that's what it says in the readme file, right? We have to start somewhere and this is no shoddy copier that knows about the platform it's working on. It's completely platform agnostic.
Here's a hint that's for free (a "things-to-try-on-a-Sunday-afternoon" hint) but may work for quite some disks: protection in many cases meant a bog standard DOS disk with a key track added. So having said that... Create an ADF and write it back with verify. Key tracks are easy to spot, so only write this one onto the same disk from Stream. You'd be amazed how many disks work when copied this way. In this scenario all the DOS data will be fine, even if it's not index aligned. Enjoy! |

Just pre-empting the 'It don't work' posts when people try and their disk doesn't work!

FYI:
Black Friday, Cyber Monday - we call it: Flux Weekend! Don't let the chance go by to flux the disks you always wanted to when you got some spare time coming up! Get a KryoFlux at a special price and - unless something weird happens - in time for your retro experience between the years. We thought it might be fun to try and join the hysteria around Cyber Weekend. So for a limited period of time, we have a limited amount of boards on sale. In terms of our regular pricing with VAT, that means: KryoFlux Personal Edition Premium only EUR 104.95 (instead of EUR 114.95) KryoFlux Personal Edition Advanced only EUR 94.95 (instead of EUR 104.95) KryoFlux Personal Edition Advanced only EUR 84.95 (instead of EUR 94.95) Enjoy. |
