I don't know if it's an inferiority complex or what, but I agree that it's strange people wanting all these ports of stuff that works great on the platform(s) it's already on. I mean, I can understand wanting to get something similar to wolfenstein running on an A500 from a technical perspective (note, I didn't say 'port' here), but why many people are so hooked on running Doom on their Amiga, I don't understand - just get dosbox and be done with it

Yes, wanting similar games is a different matter, as that implies actually wanting original content. Which is also why I have specifically stated that I'm not going to port wolf3d to the A500, but rather make my own game out of it

just to be clear, i'd rather hype an original production on the amiga than a port

the feelings on SR that makes me want to see it get more love/ported are totally unrelated what i think the amiga would need (new games, new demos, more homebrew, more oldschool stuff, etc)

i just talked by my love to SR itself lol my apologies if what i said could be misinterpreted into something bad at all

This times a thousand. C64 version in 1997 was good fun, but one for AGA Amiga version in 2022 would just be .. quite sad.

Porting a game requires programming but making a game from scratch requires that plus art, music, game design, documentation, playtesting etc.
