Used to call Digital Candy around 95/96 before the bbs scene started to slow down

Some good memories of the bb scene.

I used to call Digital Candy all the time, along with a local BBS, 13th Hour. It was strange to say goodbye to that whole scene, it was extremely unique! I remember upgrading my humble 2400 to a 14400... MAN! That was fast!!

Handle was Trigger the changed to F!restarter

Yeah I remeber logging into Digital Candy alot met some good friends at the time and became a member of Data division for a short time.

Local Boards I remeber

Disclosure - Sysop Mavrik
Dallas - Sysop JR (seen him in the evening chronicle doing stuff about the Pits)
Gamma Quadrent - Sysop Ace (In the USA)
The Pyrimad - Sysop Scarab
Junkies Paradise (Rimmers World) - Sysop Snooz
The Graveyard - Undertaker
The DarkDomain - Sysop Petza (built him his first PC)

And only stopped when in the North East when All the BBS started getting busted.

Also I bought a backup of the Digital Candy PC section off Ade
which I still have.

And also Emulation Nation by Banjo from Havok BBS

like to go through and have a read wish I had a copy of the amiga section.

anyone want a copy of the disks just drop me a line at fstarter@yahoo.com Subject Digi Candy & Emulation
within reason

Yeah, I have some photos somewhere. Will have a look. Probably not as glamourous as you expect. The system was on top of a chest of drawers in a cupboard in my hall with a load of clothes hanging above it on a rail! Probably pretty dangerous if anything ever fell off as the A4000 lid was off for heat reasons and there were various hard disks placed here and there. Then the 7 modems and the 2x7 disk CD ROM jukeboxes sat next to it all.

I had then wired a 5 metre extension through the wall to my bedroom come study for the mouse, keyboard and monitor as I couldnt sleep with the hard disks, jukeboxes and modems clicking away all night long!!! Digital Candy was busy all day and night long so there was never any quiet time to sleep!!

Regards Hybrid

i use to use MAX's bbs then i swaped to AMI-EXPRESS the best bbs software ever

http://amiexpress.skywalk.co.uk/

i had a 540 meg HD when i bought it i never thought id ever fill it but i did
my bbs had no upload / download ratio no rules u could do what ever u wanted and instant access to the warez wich is why my bbs was quite popular i never expected to get many uploads but i got loads
when i first got my modem and logged in to my first bbs i got a buzz it felt cool so i decided to make my own board it saved me a fortune with all the uploads i was getting
i only had 1 phone line in my house so i could only setup my bbs on the weekend but since BT's phone calls were cheaper on the weekends thats the time most people used the boards
i never logged in during the week days
i would love to still have my bbs just to remind myself of what it was like

i prefered the BBS's more than the net
my NCOMM phone book was full of boards there all closed down now
MAJOR BUMMER
