That's good

I looked at the pcb on the pictures he linked to and it says
512kb ram expansion on middle left side end and ABOH says it's
512kb on the pcb and the cardboardbox

That's why I thought it was the same

Learning something new every day

Is booth A501 and A501+ chipram or fastram expansions ?

...Keller also has a 1 meg expansion called A501plus but it looks different.

I guess that for the last revisions of the A501, they made a PCB which could be used for making both the A501 and A501+.

In the A501 incarnation, for the regular A500, it would only have had four ram chips (256kx4 ram chips) and the realtime clock part would have been populated with chips and battery.

They are both chipmem expansions, but on many A500's, the Agnus chip will only address 512kB chipmem and because of that this added memory will treated as fast ram by the system, even if it is on the chipmem bus - often this is called slowfast, as it is as exactly as slow as chipmem from the cpu's point of view.

I am after the Commodore A501+ specifically btw .

When you get ahold of one please post some pictures, and I would love one for my collection if you more than 1 offer

The A501+ I have is the 512kb version so I would love the 1 mb version.
