If you are just going to play games get a RAM board upgrade maybe - 8MB ideally - you could get an 030 (Blizzard is best in my opinion) but it's not essential. What you have on order will keep you busy for a while!

I've seen a few videos that just simply use Peroxide Creme nothing added and then use a UV light or Sun and they came out pretty well.

That may just bleach it and may not specifically reverse the bromine reaction, more likely to make the surface mottled or eat the plastic.

BBlonde peroxide creme works fine, even merlin who was one of the people who started retrobrite says its fine. Even retrobrite with oxy isnt permanent as it only works on the top.. if its badly yellowed it will yellow again.. although another application will fix it, and it will yellow less after every application as it uses up the flame retardant that causes the yellowing.

I forgot to write about my 1200 I got a few months ago.
It's had around an hours use (lifetime!). Have only powered it on once - she's a keeper although I hate seeing hardware unused. I'm quite happy with emulation at the minute so more collection than anything Last edited by Paul_s; 10 October 2019 at 18:57. |

I purchased another A2000HD this week. Oddly enough the battery hasn't leaked at all but the power supply fan needed lubed to spin (very dusty possibly from a smoker). KS 1.3, an A2090 MFM/SCSI card (never seen one before with the MFM drive), 8MB RAM board with only 2MB in chips installed, Magni 4004 interface card and encoder card (which initially caught my attention).
Should be getting an A1000 sometime soon, which would pretty much complete my Amiga desktop collection (A500, A1000, A1200, A2000, A3000, A4000). |
