host name issue
Dear Colleagues
I am running a TCP/IP stack. I can get to my gateway, other IP devices on my network and can even connect to my HP network printer but I still can't get beyond my network to the internet. When I run Aweb I get the following message: "cannot resolve the host name "...." My Host File entry: 127.0.0.1 localhost 192.168.1.75 amiga2000 nameserver file entry: nameserver 192.168.1.1 ---> same as my gateway that host my DNS Here a ping output from my MAC computer: ping amiga2000 ping: cannot resolve amiga2000: Unknown host ping 192.168.1.75 PING 192.168.1.75 (192.168.1.75): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 192.168.1.75: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=185.672 ms 64 bytes from 192.168.1.75: icmp_seq=1 ttl=255 time=12.671 ms 64 bytes from 192.168.1.75: icmp_seq=2 ttl=255 time=10.190 ms 64 bytes from 192.168.1.75: icmp_seq=3 ttl=255 time=13.615 ms Do I need another entry somewhere? |

It sounds to me like the Domain Name Server isn't right.

yes...looks like I needed a DNS boolean entry in one of my files. Thanks all good now
