Gloom Deluxe
Those who know the type of games I am found of may be astonished to read I am requesting a hack'n'slash fps !
I promised to a friend that I would include a fps in my Amiga games video tribute. Don't go running to YouTube and type Deleauvive in the search box as it's not ready yet. (I prefer to post videos on 'quiet' web sites, like Yahoo's anyway) Gloom Deluxe (1996, Guildhall) may be to Quake what Body Blows is to Street Fighter 2 (oh, I am being naughty here !), it doesn't appear to me vastly inferior to Breathless or Genetic Species, in terms of gameplay. I can't really give more insights about it, as I don't know the beast very well, but I would say the graphics are decent. Considering the coverage each and every Amiga fps received all over the web, whether good or mediocre, I am surprised no one thought of whdloading Gloom yet. It benefits from running on a Cybergraphx inside a real Amiga apparently, but is still playable via the UAE. Request is for the AGA version, of course |

Hi Deleauvive,
do you know that there is a really nice harddisk install on the disks already? I'm just curious why this game needs to be WHDfied. |

...and it is longing for a nice, fast CPU!
So, no compatibility probs, I assume. |

Maybe someone with a PPC can tell us if there are any problems. Mailman?

You're right. Funny thing is cybergraphics libraries are available for Gloom now, so I could choose the correct uaegfx screen setup. I used the ipfs by the way, and only the first drive is taken into account by the installer. Game exits to the workbench.

You do want me to upload my installed versions?
Maybe it´s worth a try... I can offer Gloom Deluxe and Gloom I (hires version in 320 x 256/200). Both versions work fine on real hardware with or without gfx card. |

Do as you please. The game installed fine here, though.
Of course, some people may have difficulties finding the ipfs. Now I am aware screen modes can be changed in Gloom. Noticed the cd32 version had more colorful backgrounds. Last edited by DamienD; 19 July 2008 at 17:55. |

Okay, both versions are in the Zone!
Try Gloom on a screen for 640 x 400 or higher. Good luck. |
