Amiga CD32 units sold??

I have been searching the web to find out as accurately as possible how many units were sold worldwide of the CD32. 100,000 keeps popping up as the unit sold before the end of 1993 and 320,000 has also been documented. I have tried to contact David Pleasance on this but I haven't had a response, does anyone have any info on this?

100,000 units were sold in Europe alone according to Wikipedia.

There were quite a few sold eventually from the seized warehouse. I think a bunch were bought for some sort of video device, and then the rest got liquidated in China. I know the one I bought on ebay was shipped from China.

There are certainly more than there was a few years ago. All the NTSC units at the time were banned from being imported to the US (XOR patent) and turned up in a warehouse in the Philippines in late 2000's and sold off as NOS on eBay and other platforms

I did see them on Ebay for $99 plus shipping from China, about 10-20 year ago. I have seen them, but did not but it.
I don't even want to think about it.

What is the real/actual question here?
How many Commodore officially sold while still in business or how many units were produced and are possibly in circulation?

For the record, I have 3 of them and one is a NOS from that infamous Philippine warehouse.

IMO this shouldn't count as an "official sale".

The actual question is how many Amiga CD32 consoles were sold while Commodore was in business, up until the end of April 1994

In NZ, Dick Smith Electronics (now sold to Kogan) were the main reseller of the CD32. Dont think they sold a lot. I was a member of Amiga Auckland, and when the local Commodore office was told to shut up shop, they offered us CD32's for $450NZD when they were selling at DSE for $800NZD.
I bought about 3 of them and sold 2 to friends.

My favourite console. So many possibilities, it's a real shame that politics & bad management stood in the way of it doing well. It was a triumph.

Trying to buy one now but the prices are insane in the UK.

I also have one in .nz, I brought it second hand of trademe for $100 I think. it came with the serial adapter so I could use it as a CD drive with an A1200.

If only if Commodore had better marketing like the Sony PS2, The PS2 can be used as a missile guidance system.

I picked up two of those back around 2006. Still have one in the box unopened. Hedging on the value to go over that of gold or Bitcoin.

Hedging the value going over gold or Bitcoin? It’s going to be Dr Evil quote valuable in the next decade.
