Simon and the monkey

I haven't been able to find the two following games anywhere, but I hope someone can help me out here

Secret of Monkey Island 2
Simon the Sorcerer 2

Also if there's any 3rd version of these too, but I don't know if a 3rd ever came out.

There's a third (And fourth) Monkey Island game, but there PC only.

Also a third Simon the Sorcerer game has recently been released for the PC too.

Info on the Amiga versions of these games...

Simon 2 is still on sale, as it only came out for Amiga in 2001. Published by epic interactive.

Monkey Island 2 is available from many cyber-places. One is Amiga Island. Not freeware: only download if you own the original copy.

*blackcornflake is deafened by laughter*

The Amiga has not had the third instalment of either series yet.

The third Monkey Island game is titled 'Curse of Monkey Island'.
Simon the Sorcerer 3 is 'Simon the Sorcerer 3D'.

So Simon the Sorcerer 3 is in 3D? I'm not that much for 3D games, personally I think this kind of games works best in 2D.

3d adventures

Hmm, maybe, but some of the best examples of adventures are in 3d such as grim fandango, discworld noir and monkey island 4. These examples use handdrawn backdrops with 3d characters. Monkey island 4 was a lot better than the cartoony 3. Grim Fandango is wonderfully bizarre and very funny. Discworld noir is hilarious and probably the best adventure i've played to date.

Simon 3d actually has a 3d environment and 3d characters, which seems strange at first, but actually works quite well once you get used to it.

I must admit I had my doubts about 3d adventures when they first appeared but in the examples mentioned the humour and the gameplay still shine through.

As a big fan of adventures it seemed like a natural progression for the genre to become 3d, to survive in todays games world.

Simon 3d sucks. You're not missing anything not playing it. And it sucks because it's 3d.

I think it's matter of personal preference when it comes to 2D and 3D. But I have to agree with that games has to go through different levels, such as from 2D to 3D but I think a mix is better than 3D takes over 2D enviorment totally.

In those 3D games I've played I always got lost, you could never see the big picture of the whole thing, not like you can in 2D.

But I haven't played 3D games in the last 2-3 years so i'm sure it has changed some. Besides I think the 3D enviorment is still in early stages so it should be better in the future.
