Nice update here for of you who don't have a two button stick.

The one button option works like this.

Rygar can jump if you push up on the stick.

If Rygar is jumping and you push up again you will set off a vertical circular attack.

If Rygar is standing still and is not moving in any direction and an attack is fired the it will be the circular attack.

I think it's a decent compromise.... let me know what you think?

Loads and loads of graphics fixes too.

On the drink tomorrow, hopefully Sunderland will win (which they won't) and I will be nice to the PPA

I didn't realise of that. It's true, rounds 21 and 22 are better with parallax. After your comment, I also realise last round is parallax in your Rygar version.

Wow, looking really slick and as you say, loads graphical bugs fixed

One issue for me though, I tried playing it twice and both times it froze at different spots

The second time was here:

I can't seem to replicate it.

Out of interest.... did you play it fine from a clean boot, then when you lost your lives and started again did it hang?

Nothing special about my config...

You have my collection hey, just extract this into "C:\WinUAE" and have a play

Both times was from a clean boot, and just starting off so hadn't died / restarted the game.

I can't get your's to crash either... I'm gonna have to debug the shit out of this thing. ughhh.

Can confirm the game freeze (music still playing but nothing is moving on the screen). Played ~10 times and happened twice.


Others bugs: Some enemies (that usually are hanging on the dragons) that were "flying" alone (without the dragon) on the lava.
It also happens that a "ghost" of Rygar's weapon stay on screen.
On the level with the rhino, two large horizontals pink bars appeared on top (right and left of the game screen borders).

Well the good news is that my exception handler has caught an illegal instruction... so shouldn't be too hard to track down.

Appreciate you taking the time to help out! If it crashes on the new build I've provided then I'll be able to pin-point the routine that is causing the fault.

Quick question: Do you still use the same tileset that has those unused tiles (1,2,3,4 plus other magenta blank tiles)? See attached file. If so maybe we can use them up into designing a new map

Hmmm, tonight I played for about 5 minutes and couldn't get it to crash

...but as you didn't set unlimited lives, I eventually died and had to restart again.

This time on the 1st stage, I jumped off a platform to kill a dragon and the game totally reset

Obviously I couldn't take screenshots of the various debug codes

I've been debugging for quite a while now so though I would add another part of the game in which is the cross power... this is the one that gives you the shield.

The game now is much more stable but there seems to be the odd crash.

This morning I played it for an hour solid and it didn't crash... i have a feeling it is something to do with fast mem / blitter nasty....not sure where though (yet)
