Recoverable Alert Error 0003 8007 when opening "ed"

Hi, i have turned on my old A600 after some years. Current config:
Code:
Kickstart 37.350 (2.05)
Workbench 39.29 (3.0) on CF 4gb
1mb expansion
Other than that I'd say it's stock and so far it seems to work just fine. I only have one issue: everytime I open the "Ed" editor from a CLI I get this error
Code:
Recoverable Alert
Error: 0003 8007
Task: 00021708
after LMB (left mouse click) I get back to Workbench and get this other error:
Code:
ramlib program failed
program failed (error #80000004)
wait for disk activity to finish
and then finish into a Guru Meditation.

That's not a critical error because I can use MicroEmacs, was just curious if it's signaling a deeper issue.

Thanks!

Kickstart too low or WB too high.
Change one of these things.

You can also copy ED from WB2.1 to WB3.0.
There will be no more yellow GURU.

Ok, I've reproduced the issue also on FS-UAE and started the virtual A600 with a Workbench 2.1 38.36 ADF file.

With that version of WB, Ed (version 2.00) works just fine.

Curiosly enough, if I copy Ed from the WB2.1 floppy to my Workbench 3.0 compact flash, Ed still crashes, unsure why (I assume ED is trying to open a library at some invalid address). Anyway, not a big deal.

Thanks a lot!

Yup, Workbench 3.0 on Kickstart 2.0 is going to cause all sorts of problems. As Nor_Bert says, switch to Workbench 2.1 (v38) or Kickstart/Workbench 3.1 (v40) or newer.
