"The Company" Amiga EXE games...

I found out about this site hosting several Amiga games, packed with the emulator, rom and everything needed to play in an EXE file, so you just double click and play the games... I was thinking this would be a very convenient way to suggest to some people I know that would like to try out some Amiga games, but that can't be bothered to set up WinUAE and all that (even though I keep telling them it's easy ).

This is the website btw -
Link removed due to TheCompany EXE with kickstarts and WHDLoad keys DH

However, an issue I have is Avast really hates these files... it doesn't say they're infected, only that they're rather unknown files with little history, so it recommends opening them in 'sandbox mode'.
Some of them it even gives me a suspected trojan alert for.

I assume these are all false 'positives' (not really positives even), and running them is not a problem?
Does anyone in here have experience with these and can say for sure?

Thanks.

Someone deleted my last link to this site for some reason (Kickstart images inside?). Most if not all games have graphics filters turned on so games looks like paintings.

I believe they do include kickstart images. They have put Mr Beanbag on the site, they asked me about it and I said they can as long as they do NOT include a copyright ROM but that they can use the AROS Kickstart replacement, and as far as I know they complied with that request. But they had originally uploaded it with a copyright ROM.

Kickstart images and they circumventent (or simply included a key...) the WHDLoad nag screen for some of the games.

I don't think that copyright owners can do anything against The Company anyway as I am pretty sure that they are lead by that criminal Polish mastermind that even the British police could never arrest, Prawo Jazdy .

I know, I have already posted that story here but I keep having fun each time I think of it and some people may not have read it

Is there a way for downloading all the games in one big/zip file?

You will have multiple copies of WinUAE, I think you can use just one with floppy images. These exe files are for someone without any Amiga knowledge.

Also GPL licensed program + some random embedded game binary = invalid combo.

Oh damn, I'm very sorry that I went against the rules by posting this, somehow I didn't think it through properly... they do seem to include kickstart images which I know is against the rules to post about here, just didn't think of that somehow, sorry!

Link removed from first post laffer

Don't worry, sometimes it's not always as clear cut as we would all like to believe as it's not always that obvious.

EDIT: laffer, next time you realise, it would be in your best interests to append the post yourself

Well, to be quite honest, there's no where this thread can go that the other threads haven't already gone.

As this is not an argument with a 'Mr Cretin' this time, I see no real reason to delete this thread or close it atm.

Also, by leaving it here for all to see should pose a reminder to everyone that this website is a no go from the start.

I appreciate it regardless, maybe someone can tell me for sure whether or not Avast is totally off and these files are perfectly safe

That's exactly what I'm planning to use them for, to link to some people I know that just can't be bothered to learn how to use WinUAE, maybe because it looks harder than it is at first glance.

I think it's a false positive.
M$ Security Essentials didn't complain when I tried Genetic Species.

IMVHO Removing copy protection in "memory" by the patch (slave) is maybe legal, but what he says conscience?
If this method is legal - WHDLoad in EXE is legal

Can someone write tutorial "How to extract full WHDLOAD / Kickstart ROM from EXE"?

Example:
1. Download EXE
2. Press right mouse button on a EXE (WinRAR must be installed) and select: "Extract all files"?
3. Yes, it is impossible

and WHDLoad keys DH
Phew.
WHDLoad key is not included in any v2.5/v2.6 now

Try IDA Pro and look for yourself...

I don't understand!

FS-UAE is legal?
WinUAE-Kaillera without source is legal?
tcUAE without source is illegal?

Credz for You, Toni & other also included ;]

Credz for any slave author also included...

PS
Traps'N'Treasures with new trainer will be available on 21-sept

Thank you all, and especially thanks to:
- Toni - for the great emulator WinUAE
- Bert & Team - for the best WHDLoad
- Galahad/FLT (?) - for the "Mr. Cretin" beautiful alias

But I don't ask for mercy.

Ah! Anthrox, Lucas, aka Mr Cretin, you were once told to clear off.

So on that note, you can clear off permanently and also I've decided to close this thread too.... Goodbye!
