Emplant software
I found an Emplant card, but the disk with the software was busted. The only software I could find is only an update patch for an earlier version. Anyone have a full, working copy of the software that came with the Emplant?

You could buy an add-on for the emplant card that would allow it to also do PC emulation.
I would quite like one for my emplant card, then I may actually plug it in.. lol |

The other thing is that a real PC BIOS is required to use the e586 module. In typical Jim Drew style, he claimed that any old BIOS would do.......but end-users reported something quite different. Lots of other pre-release "promises" didn't pan out either. Apparently Windows wouldn't run on it, which was probably a big nail in the coffin for sales at the time. Suffice to say that the e586 module didn't sell in any great quantity and, as a result, would probably be scarcely seen even on Ebay. Anyway, there's an interesting little review of it on Aminet which you can read for yourself: http://aminet.net/package/docs/mags/AL2_html |

Ah cool, thanks for the info
If I really did want PC emulation that badly I'd stick the Golden Gate 386SX in there It was just something I wanted to have a bit of a play with really.. lol.. That's all. I also thought it was funny with the emplant saying: Quote:

@Keropi
I know of none on the net. Google Images, Yahoo Images, BBOAH, and the Amiga Hardware Database reveal nothing either. The best bet is probably a picture in a magazine review of the e586, but I'm not too sure there were too many print magazine reviews to speak of. I wonder if Amiga Shopper reviewed it..... |

the disks you can find in the tosec collection on the ftp server (use browser friendly link)
folder: "/Commodore_Amiga/TOSEC/Applications/[ADF] (TOSEC-v2012-12-21_CM)/" or in the zone - emplant.zip Edit: do you have the optional e586 module ? Last edited by emufan; 30 April 2013 at 16:13. |

someone mentioned it should be labeled "P1-0595". |
