This is the cheapest 8MB upgrade for A1200 I can find. Seems to have a similar performance boost as the AmigaKit one. Don't bother getting an FPU, it will only be used in very few programs and demos, not worth it unless you know exactly what you want. If you're going to use the PCMCIA port on the A1200, you'll need to limit the memory to 4MB using a jumper on the board. The AmigaKit one can be limited to 5.5MB in software for PCMCIA compatibility, so that's an advantage. |

That's a great price. The only thing I needed an FPU for was 3D rendering, doing that on an Amiga now would be masochism. People own watches that can render 100 times faster than my A1200 could.

I think thae RAM Expansion from icomp is a little bit better - 10MB with full support of the PCMCIA port. Additional it has an IDE speeder but you have to buy a RTC clock.
https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/shop/...t/aca1211.html If you wanna really sell your V1200 I can offer you a Blizzard1220 or a DCE Typhoon 1230 with additional cash. But if you ask me - I would not sell the V2. Last edited by AMike; 19 August 2020 at 13:04. Reason: link |

Yeah, but you know me, I am more of a "Vanilla Amiga" guy.. It was fun to build a nice workbench with it during the Corona lockdown when I had a lot of time at hand, but after that I lost a bit of an interest for it. |

What ever happened about the TF330 getting reworked for the 1200? That would make for an awesome and cheap 030 accelerator.

If all you want to do is play games, a Blizzard 1230-IV with 128MB will serve you well. It will give you a good speed boost and enough RAM to comfortably run most games. I wouldn't even bother with an FPU unless you want to play some later 3D games that can make use of it.
