OS 2.1 - time and date

I recently installed OS 2.1 and it thinks it's 1978, is there a way to fix that?
And i don't mean set time and date until reboot...
Even 1.3 has proper time (WinUAE).

2.1 should have no problem reading the RTC time. Are you using the exact same configuration as for the 1.3 setup? Do you have WinUAE set to synchronise the clock? IIRC WinUAE also has an option somewhere to use the old RTC address as found on some early A2000s - I don't know if support for that old address was dropped with later versions of the OS, but that could also be the issue?

I found a synchronize clock option in WinUAE (Misc), doesn't do a thing...
Well I guess for time and date one must use an OS that doesn't start with 2
then. One wonders how Commodore went out of business - didn't pay
bills on time

disgruntled? The default settings of WinUae A500 with 2.04 rom and 2.1 Workbench show the current date/time.

Running A600 with ROM 2.05 (37.350) and OS 2.1 (38.35). It's not a big deal really, just odd.

An A600 in standard configuration does not have an RTC. WinUAE mimics this fact.

An RTC is added if you add a memory expansion. Or use the Adv. Chipset page to manually add an RTC.

I am quite sure it's the same for the A500. You probably used the "most common" config which comes with a Slow RAM expansion and this has an RTC.

Thanks for explaining it

I got time now I've never touched advanced chipset before since with the default on
compatible settings everything is greyed out .
