For sale: Voodoo 3 3000 PCI (ideal for Mediator)
Card in fully working condition. I don't need it since I bought a Voodoo 4 4500 PCI for my Mediator. So here's for someone who needs it.
Will post pictures if someone wants, but the card seems to be identical to this one I'm asking 20€ + postage. IBAN or Paypal gift. After payment I post the card. |

When you receive the card I suggest you put a fan onto the heatsink like I did, the Voodoo can get quite hot.

You know they do, and a few people think that is unusual, yet they seem to run fine with just the heat sink alone.

It's not just the Voodoo processor that gets hot.
On the edge of the card, there is a flat black Mosfet. - Touch it with the card powered & I guarantee it will give you a nasty burn. Tbh, this Mosfet gets hotter than the Voodoo chip itself. - Heat-sink it if you can. |

Maybe it's better to watercool-sink it . But is the mosfet thing affecting general stability like the Voodoo chip? Do you know if there's a similar mosfet chip in Voodoo 4?

WC is perhaps a bit over the top & I can't vouch for Voodoo 4 not having owned one. However, Voodoo 5500 certainly does not.
Actually, I just found this Voodoo 4 PCI affair on Google images. It also has one of those Mosfet's & this one is partially sunk Voodoo 5 has a Molex connector & a very different way of managing it's power. Last edited by Kin Hell; 04 August 2013 at 11:49. |

@Kin Hell
Voodoo5 seems to be a tad useless for Amiga, power consumption is over the top compared to Voodoo3/4 and it has two fans(?) @Cymru Received the Voodoo3 yet? |

Yes, you're probably right there, but when it comes to bragging rights, a Voodoo 5500 looks really cool in any PCI'd Amiga & it doesn't get as hot as the Voodoo 3 or Voodoo 4 cards.
