68k benchmark suggestions
As I mentioned in another thread Ive started doing a few benchmarks/tests on Winuae,Amithlon, and Janus-UAE all running on the same hardware on a few different setups (and as similar as possible AmigaOS setups). I could also add results from my a1200 as a point of reference, but its a bit out of scope of the intention of the tests.
Thus far my "benchmark suite" consists of Quake, Quake2, Doom, AmiGod2, and Lame. Can anyone suggest any other tests please that give meaningful/useful results? Perhaps a few objects/scenes for imagine/lightwave/whatever? Id also be interested in a 68k mac benchmark or 2 (for testing via shapeshifter) if anyone can suggest something to me please. Feel free to suggest anything you like, the more the better (to a point). It's a pretty big job so Id like to get it right 1st time around and not remember obvious omissions after Ive finished Thanks in advance. |

Include also some 100% pure CPU test (no FPU), for example big lha archive compress/decompress to/from ram disk.

Make sure that the timers are running with the correct speed under load in emulated environments. You cannot compare anything if a minute of the clock on one system takes not the same amount of time as on the other systems or in reality.

Just a quick note to appologize for taking so long. Real life, and a few other bits and pieces have been distractions of late, but I'm stil working on it (albiet more slowly than Id hoped).
It's information Im interested in myself, so I hope to get it finished sooner rather than later. |
