Case painting tips

Ok so pretend I know nothing about refinishing.

If I wanted to refin a plastic amiga case and have a nice smooth non-sticky finish, what products/steps do I need?

Do I need to rough the surface up with sandpaper and then spray primer/color/clear?

I refinish wood mainly, but this is new territory for me.

1) The base work must be pristine. It must also be smooth and dent free.. Just like painting a car.
2) Use degreaser before painting anything, also wipe/blow off all dust (compressed air).
3) Apply a plastic primer that suits your paint, else the layers will cook.

Then the rest is colour / clear coat, again make sure they're compatible with each other and your primer.

Number two: just put the computer/console back to the original colour will make wonders.

I find vinyl dye works better than paint but few people seem to know about it.

My sentiments exactly - if it's yellowed, replace the case/keytops/keyboard. They're on eBay and Amigakit.com.

But the first answer by Jope is CCC, clear, concise and complete. Buy 4 spray cans and you're done. The only tricky part is finding non-corrosive colors, but just go to car parts place or something and tell them it's for your plastic bumper
