Error in Disk 3 of Secret of Monkey Island (IT)

This game normally has no protection in the disk structure, but in this case I am surprised to find an error in the file "DISK03.LEC" of the disk n°3. 2 bytes seem to be damaged in sector 196 without any reading error on the track.
Other disks of the Italian version are known and have no errors. Strange to find this in an IPF...master error?

The faulty and corrected version are in The Zone!

Code:
File selected : SecretOfMonkeyIsland,The_Disk3[IPF2ADF].adf
File size : 901.120 bytes
CRC32 : $8A308005
File loaded as an ADF : AmigaDOS OFS

Disk Format : Bootable DOS disk
 - Block Allocation Map was found in sector 974
 - Disk name : <Monkey3>
 - Old disk name : <.......3>

Sorry for the necrobump but I guess I had to vent somehow...

Damn, I spent like 3-4 hours yesterday trying to figure out what was going on (as I've recently had issues while recreating the physical disks of F-29 Retaliator from IPF (SPS) sources, so I thought "this must be some weird misconfiguration of my greaseweazle setup again") only to find out about this.

Oh well, thankfully the fixed archive was still available on the EAB server so I was able to fix it at last. Here's hoping a 100% working set will make it to TOSEC/SPS soon so that other people won't encounter headaches like I did! :-)

this game should be installed on Harddisk very soon becuase running from floppy (continuos swap) can damage and destroy the disk. Happen to me on Real Amiga 500. one of the 11 disk damaged
after days of swapping.
For sure someone dumped that damaged disk after month of swapping without check its integrity

This is the original Monkey Island though. You're talking about the sequel.

I've never heard about swap ending up damaging disks anyway. Are there any trustworthy sources about that? Honest question.

It is not changing floppy disks that damages the floppy drive.
It is the wrong way to do it. Remove them with the motor running.
Insert them abruptly or crookedly or incorrectly.

To me in many years floppy drives have never been damaged for this reason.
