And this is why people should upload their releases to Aminet, so that it's easily found and doesn't disappear when whatever corner of the internet it's stored in disappears.

Funny side story... I hadn't printed in a while, and some thread here reminded me. But I have changed home laser printers since then, and my new printer (a Canon) is PCL, so I should be able to print now without CUPS on the Pi (which is good because that Pi was reformatted and reused ages ago). So, all I should need to do is configure my Amiga to use the HP Laserjet driver and give my network printing program the new info... ... Well, I couldn't actually remember how I set it up. Couldn't find it on my Amiga. (For some reason, after I had gotten it working, I apparently deleted the NetPARLPR program.) So I started googling, and based on what I could remember, THIS THREAD showed up. Which reminded me that it was NetParLPR I had used. So I redownloaded it, ran the installer and it asked me if I just wanted to reconfigure. I said yes and set it up for the new IP. First attempt, and I got a bunch of junk with "postscript" in the top. Dang, forget to choose my HP LaserJet in Prefs. ;-) Did that, and THEN tried again, and my Amiga is now printing to my Canon laser printer over the network. And this time, I copied the NetParLPR program to my Tools folder. ;-) Of course, I recently got OS3.2, and I will probably install new, but at least now I remember what works for when I want to reinstall this. |
