OS1.3 Shell Tools (WShell 2 et al)

Hi,

It seems every other year someone asks for Wshell 2.0. And sometimes it's been uploaded to The Zone. Currently not there, does anyone have it?

Also, I've been desperately looking for a screen shell application (a shell that runs in its own screen) that works on OS 1.3 - no luck so far. Any ideas?

I haven't used it myself, but ViNCEd looks like it could do what you want. However that archive is an update. You need an earlier ViNCEd 3.6x archive too. I'm not sure whether that's on Aminet.

ConMan is another possibility. That can open windows on the frontmost screen, or any screen.

Thanks, haven't looked at conman, will do. As for Vinced, I looked for a 1.3 version (3.69 or earlier) without success. But I didn't that it could make/run on other screens.

try searching for wshell on eab fileserver - there is a wshell-collection incl. 2.0

another usefull addition is KingCON. it's an upgrade for the cli/shell - adding usefull functionality to them. it should work with ks/wb1.3.

I know KingCON but it requires KS 2.0+

yep, conman works fine. And now I also have wshell. And a small c program that opens a shell on its own screen. I should be set \o/

i found VincEd366.lha and VincEd368.lha ( in the zone ) - I didnt knew about that.
so you can test this too, before you finish your utility partition

oh, nice. I certainly will add it.

The install will have several shells and con-handlers anyway: Csh, sksh, aush, zshell, wshell, conman and GMC so far. Obviously not all running - the user can choose.
