Lands of Lore - ScummVM AGA

I´d like to play LoL via ScummVM AGA.

Sadly it has gfx glitches.

I´ve already checkd this thread: https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=56815&page=32

And I also watched this clip:

So it should work without problems.

I´ve tried the CD and Floppy versions and a couple of ScummVM releases (AGA 040 and RTG, 1.5, 1.4, 1.3...)

Still no difference.
Does someone has a working installed version? CD version would be nice!


I´m using an A1200 with Vampire!

Confirmed: (Emulated 040)(RTG)
The intro is fairly messed up (Patrick Steward ?)
and the game has stray blocks (see grab)
and the Herbologist is just black.

The person in on YouTube
has a Blizzard 1260 (50 MHz)
and links to ScummVM_AGA_060 (1.5.0)

So it is prob... that ?

Tried ScummVM_AGA_040 (1.5.0)
It just said KYRA.DAT was missing or Corrupt ?

It is there but where is it looking.

Hey viddi!

DamienD has made a .HDF using "ScummVM V1.4.1.001 AGA 040". No corrupt graphics and the music is also working
You may grab from Turran FTP under "DamienD's WinUAE Collection/Interim Updates & Fixes".

Got a PM with another solution.
But it was buggy.

Yes, did try V1.4 and it works.
Switched to Floppy version, though.
Sample sound quality isn't that great in V1.4!

Video of 1.5.0 AGA, the RTG version had better sound
need to see what the AHI settings are for that.

The kyra.dat is part of the 'extras' make sure your scummvm launcher has the correct path set.

AGA 1.5 also has very good sound quality. Much better than that.
And the video also shows the gfx bugs.

Damien's is prob... the best at the moment

The sound is a little hissy but at least the graphics are OK.

Game is working nice but... keyboard movement is not working, which is inconvenient regarding playability. Is possibility to map/add keyboard control? In newer versions is additional (re)map option to every game.

Also I cannot run neither Goblins trilogy nor Ween with this version. Is something lacking in DamienD pack (hdf)?

Also it would be nice if someone could port newer version of ScummVM with AGA support.

I was reporting that few times before. Seems that only 68k version with working numeric keyboard controls is the recent Novacoders v1.7.0 version, but it has graphical glitches (and is RTG only).

So maybe some kickstarter campaign to make new version of SCUMMVM AGA by someone (or NovaCoder)? Or something like this?

About graphical bug it's werid, because it's not present on other SCUMMVM version. I was checking Windows and MorphOS versions.

I have uploaded a build of ScummVM 2.2.0 for AGA/RTG with only the LOL engine enabled to The Zone.
It can do real Midi via CAMD and will use RTG if available. I also hacked in Keypad support. But you should be aware that ScummVM’s game options already offered a remapping of the games keys; I.e. you could have already remapped movement to AWSD or similar.
I don’t know how stable this version is.
The Icon’s settings are set to a ridiculous high stack of 1mb. That can certainly reduced to less, like 100kb.
If running on AGA, BlazeWCP should be installed prior, because it is using the OS’s routines to do c2p.

Whilst the PC version of ScummVM has key-mapping (not needed for LOL)
none of the Amiga versions I have managed to run, have it.

Uploaded realtime.library to the Zone as well. AFAIK this should have come with the OS at some point.

Not working with the included kyra.dat, says it's missing or corrupted.

Try pointing it to the extras folder in ScummVMs settings.

Thanks, it works now, but uses incorrect resolution in RTG. It should be 320x200, not 320x240.

For the same reason NTSC support for AGA mode would be nice.

Thanks pipper, from a quick winuae test controls and graphics works well now. Hopefuly it will be fast enough on real amiga as well.

I'm just asking, because I cannot test it now. Is software ADLIB and/or MIDI emulation possible in Your version of SCUMMVM LoL?
Is possible to run Lands of Lore directly (without SCUMMVM GUI)?

but just goes to a Black Screen after Intro
(Champion Selection)
