Dopus Magellan II 5.8

I heard this got made freeware/open source lately, yet every FTP and torrent/download site I find has nothing later than 5.11.

Can someone upload this to the Zone? Should be no issue now it's freeware?

amikit comes with magellan 5.82 pre-installed. not sure if you can install it again, but it is working here right from this folder - without using/installing amikit.
look into the zone.

But that has a lot of references to Amikit, and you haven't got an s-s to load it. In fact you could make the changes and make the Magellan of Amikit to work perfectly.
I did that install using the Magellan disks http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=66179

I think the adf's to install Magellan should be (I don't say they are) in Aminet now.

Edit: I've found where it is:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/dopus5allamigas/

in this forum: http://aros-exec.org/modules/newbb/v...C&type=&mode=0

Thanks but appears that's the source code.

Can someone upload the adf/iso of the commercial release to The Zone?

I know it's bundled with amikit, but now it's open source we shouldn't have to try and rip all the elements and reconstruct it from amikit. I just want to install it on my A1200 like from the original disks.

Yes, that's why I put the link to the thread. Read the last post:

"@Olaf
Wake up Ask plz gpoft if they can give us rights to upload 5.8 ISO as well"

Edit: In this thread they are talking about the same, and kas1e uploaded something, but also without install disks: http://www.amigans.net/modules/xforu...C&type=&mode=0

Edit: Look in the file server. There's a "Directory Opus -Magellan II" in Amiga/Applications/Disk, but I haven't tried it.

I have the lha for 5.5 plus the 5.8 update dms disk.

You need a serial number to use it though.

I've tried with the one of the file server, and the first adf to install it was giving me a guru screen:
Error 0100 000C Task 1002BC80

i did use the one from the zone (its the one from file server, just renamed) and things are ok here.
on top of amigasys4 with wb/kick 3.1. using winuae 2.5.1 last beta.
first install, then extras disk. reboot after install, now the magellan-disk. it is working here.
you can try the installer update from aminet. maybe it does help.

Emufan I think the version of Amikit is much better. You could use the one someone linked here and delete the options for Amikit. You can rename your existing Opus5 as Opus5Original if sometime you want to change and use it.

Pretty awesome Tried the version from the EAB file server, works fine. Now I can finally replace Dopus 4.16 (don't like Magellan as a WB replacement).

Many thanks to the people who made this possible
