RGB Scart Cable/CRT TV Issue

Hi guys.
I still got an old CRT TV I used with my old A500 (Back in the '90s). It's a small TV (15" I guess) but it works a treat
Some years ago I bought a RGB scart cable from Amigakit. It works very well with my new LED TV's, but I don't know why I can plug it in the CRT TV. Probably this is a dumb question, but I wonder if someone here can tell me why it doesn't work.

CRT TV SCART INPUT (Just ignore the dust )

RGB SCART CABLE

Any help really much appreciated.
Thank you

it might sound silly, but its going to be very difficult to answer the question.

the pictures show a plug and socket, what are the issues?

just saying it dont work is no clue.

are you getting anything on screen? even if its very dark.,can you switch to rgb manually? etc.

from the pictures i can see a small crack and chip in the top left of the scart socket.

maybe the molding of the socket or plug on the lead has a small defect?

if the lead plugs into other tvs maybe its not the lead, then again if other leads can be plugged into that set who knows.

Ok, I tried to plug in a "Normal" rgb scart cable to the socket, and it works!
This is really strange...

I made a picture of the two cables (The one from Amigakit is on the top):

As you can see, they look just alike So, one works, the other cable is "Blocked" on the left when I try to plug in, and I can't fit it inside

From that it looks like the top right corner is not quite in shape in the top connector. Perhaps try bending it a bit with a pair of pliers.

Try fitting it from the left first. A bit of force won't cause much damage (your issue is the shielding, which as Jope says it's not quite in the right shape for your TV) and it should let you insert the RGB cable in your TV

I have also found that the socket on one of my TVs is recessed so that plastic shroud on the scart cable stops it from inserting fully. I had to trim the plastic around the socket to allow a good fit.

Another issue, I have come across with scarts. Is that if one pin is slightly off alignment then it can stop it going in. Older TV's seemed to be a pain in this respect, maybe newer tv's have them opened slightly more to allow for slight bend pin.

i have seen this as well fol.

but,i dont think the op is having this problem as one corner of the plug seems to be catching on the molding of the socket of the set on its way in.

Hi guys,
I tried everything but it doesn't work
Is there a possibility to change the scart input (The one that works) with the one from Amigakit?

Do you perchance have a scart splitter? Something like this?

I'm asking because it may serve as a bridge if you can connect it to TV and then Amiga -> Scart cable to it. It would save you the trouble of swapping Scart connectors which is possible but kinda pain in the ass .

Also, if need be, you can demolish Scart connector on the swich a bit to make amigakit one to fit, they're easier to get than new TVs
