Relatively large (5 / 10 GB) free webspace
Hi,
is there a free 5 / 10 GB webspace service? A trustable (and durable) one... Some time ago I created an account (5 GB) with OxyHost (www.oxyhost.com), but it's no more active. I'm searching for a webspace with FTP access via client software (not only via website), PHP, MySQL, etc. |

PHP etc. are not mandatory. Even a simple 5 / 10 GB (or more) ftp site will suffice... |

I just typed 'free 5gb web space' into google and it came out with
http://www.5gbfree.com/ It supports PHP etc but the maximum file size is just 1MB for free accounts. then there's http://www.neohide.com/unlimitedmb-f...00gb-bandwidth But again, they limit users to 500kb PHP files or max file size of 2MB. Then there's: http://5gigsfree.tk They have two free plans, all supporting PHP etc, and I can't seem to find any file size limits on there, so I'd choose this one if I were having to find free web space. Of course there are many more... |

Thanks lifeschool
I know... what I'm searching for is a trustable and (above all) durable webspace (as I wrote in my first post). I mean, something that will be there in the next years. I don't know if the links you wrote are known societies... I would prefer famous names. |

Hi,
sorry for exhuming this old thread. I was wondering: since 2012 did some new free hosting services appear? Possibly unlimited (much bigger than MEGA/mega.nz, however). I'm uploading to my Internet Archive webpage a lot of images of my original magazines' CD-ROMs/DVD-ROMs, but I would like a second/separated webspace (possibly unlimited and free) for disc images backup and other uses... |

Cloud drives:
Box - Up to 10 GB of storage, 250MB file limit pCloud - Up to 10 GB free storage degoo - Free 100 GB, app required, need to sign in periodically due to 90 days account inactivity limit Out of above, box.com is 15 years old, pCloud 7 y.o. and deegoo 8 y.o. If it comes to webhosting at that sizes, you will have problems finding one that will be here in 5 years. FreeHosting.com offers 10GB with 1 website, email and MySQL db limit. No PHP mail nor SSL. They're on the market for last 22 years. Make sure to check reviews before committing I personally use old box account and google drive which sits now at 19gb. If you're looking for long term solution and it has to be free, using google drive with alternative gmail is best. Have you looked into sharepoint or aws? You can get 1tb of space for €4 monthly if you pay for full year ahead. |

Thanks .
About the size, I specified "bigger than MEGA" because I need way more than 50 GB . So Box/pCloud/FreeHosting/Google Drive are not viable options. Even degoo is small, for what I need (a repository, mainly). FreeHosting is indeed interesting for websites, though. I'll keep it in mind. Quote:
Maybe I can have something similar here in Italy for slightly less (2..3€/month), have to check. I preferred something free, if possible, even with some limitations on speed etc. ... Last edited by Supamax; 23 December 2020 at 05:19. |

Hmm.. did some more snooping and found: https://www.blomp.com/ - you can increase size to from20gb to 200gb after inviting new users (20gb per user) https://cloudup.com/ - 200gb, you'll need to request invite via email If you have broadband with BT, you can avail of BT Cloud with capacity 10GB, 200GB or 1TB based on broadband package. |
