Amiga 3000 inspired Mini ITX computer case Kickstarter launches 8th December
The new Checkmate 1500 MIni enables compact and powerful PC, Raspberry Pi and FPGA based desktop Amiga compatible computer builds.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-computer-case Checkmate A1500 Mini from iMica Ltd Imagine a brand new, Commodore Amiga 3000 inspired desktop computer case sitting on your desk today, that's what we want to bring to you again. Following on from the successful launch of the Checkmate 1500 Plus case Kickstarter in 2019 we wanted to add a smaller and more compact case to the range. Click for the Original Checkmate 1500 Plus Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-desktop-compu Backing this campaign will enable us to make the high quality matching Black and Oyster White front panels instead of the 3D printed main panels at the moment. You will notice this campaign is for a lower amount than the last but that is due to a number of parts being interchangable between the Mini and the Plus cases. This reduces our Mold costs and so we can pass that on by needing less funding and speeding development to you. With your support we can bring this more compact version to you. More details at http://www.checkmate1500plus.com/ |

Please make cases for A4000 and other Amiga's that haven't had any love in the new case department, as good as this looks ITX cases practically grow on trees.

Hi Mick
We do this out of passion, I sadly lack it for the A4000. However, there is a fitting kit for A3000 coming from Simon Marston and if you get in touch with him he may do an A4000 version. The reality is that next to nobody wants to re case an A4000 unless they have a board only so there is no market. Talking of growing on trees, the A4000 case was chosen because they had a load for there PC's, there was no design like the custom case for the A3000. You are right about lots of ITX cases, but none like this. Steve Last edited by clusteruk; 30 November 2020 at 20:22. |

Curious is any EAB member actually had purchased, received and setup this the A3000 case? It is interesting to build a FAST ITX PC and run AmigaOS or any emulator in it. Just wanted some comments on it.

Some nice options with the Raspberry Pi/Ami-hybrid, Un-Amiga and MiSTix boards. What I think would be really cool would be an Amy-ITX style board that takes the A500 chipset but with two Raspberry Pi type GPIO headers with built in pistorm and Amiga Digital Video interfaces.
pistorm project https://github.com/captain-amygdala/pistorm Amiga Digital Video project https://github.com/c0pperdragon/Amiga-Digital-Video You have a real chipset for Amiga feel but the advantages of over 200MIPS emulated processor speed, emulated IDE, lots of RAM, HDMI output and other "hybrid" possibilities in the future. |

Nice project
With all the new AA3000+ Motherboard builds happening I’m surprised they didn’t try and make it A3000 compatible |

Would require a special Firebird daughterboard with fewer Pci/zorro slots

If this is true, A3000 compatibility would have been a nice thing to have. I am sure it was considered and then dismissed due to low demand and price overhead. |

Ask him?
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=104694 http://eab.abime.net/attachment.php?...8&d=1605476999 If you are building an AA3000+, it will not fit this case with the Firebird daughterboard Hese supplies. A standard 3000 daughterboard does not work with an AA3000+ so there’s no reason to believe this cut down board will be compatible either. So unless Hese produces a checkmate compatible Firebird board, no AA3000+ will buy this checkmate adapter. Last edited by trixster; 09 December 2020 at 22:25. |

Hi Guys, on the subject of fitting the A3000 motherboard, there are many technical reason why I could not do this my self including not wanting to butcher my A3000 as a test machine.
However, more importantly, so few people have asked me about it. However, I gave Simon a free case so he could do the work as he had spare motherboard and skills to make the smaller daughter board. Steve |
