Personally I think a translation is generally a hack so a ht flag would be better (hack translation)

Nice.
The only thing that keeps me a little bewildered with this project is that game titles MUST include sub-titles at any cost.

What's the big idea?

http://hol.abime.net/4161

Barravento - O Mestre da Capoeira (1993)(Hitek Softworks)(En-Pt).zip

Why the HELL is 'Barravento (1993) ... ' not sufficient in TOSEC?
(HOL may list the sub-title, of course.)

Well, now I do understand why many CD-burning-eager people go nuts when their burning programs freak out with those long file names.
They CAN be shortened and yet keep all required information.

Yep, sometimes i can't see the disk numbers or trainer/cracker flags of a game because the filenames are too long to fit on the screen. I dream of some kind of id3tag, like we have for mp3's, but for adf's. You could include coverscans and add the HOL information to it etc...

Sub-titles with games are SOOOO unnecessary.

Methinks it's all because of the Tosec mame/roms origin. The naming of other (computer-) games with this filename length inflation issue maybe came later and they couldn't change the established naming conversation to fit the new images properly...

Absolutely brilliant bip!

The only "English" versions that I've known of so far are translated FRENCH versions!

Nice. I remember seeing another version on a board months after the Interpol version, but never managed to get it.

Hey guys,

Today I had some spare time so thought "why not play test the English version bippym and jrom have given us".

Anyway, I've been playing on Easy for about 3 hours now and am up to Level 5. Here's some observations so far:

... Uses a QWERTY keyboard.
... In-game / cutscene text is slightly different to the other "translated" versions I have played (of course the reason for this is that it's not translated from French to English).
... When starting the levels you get 4 shields instead of the 3 that I've encounted on the other "translated" versions.
... The level codes are different (see below).
... On Level 2 when you need to complete jobs / missions, the 4th job / mission (i.e. fix the computer) had weird graphics. We came to the conclusion that this is how it's supposed to be. Well, I can now say that it's definitely a graphics bug as it doesn't occur in this version (see attached screenshots).

This version is wicked, love it

Now for the bad news... On Level 5 (Disk 3) you first pickup the Tele Controller and the Tele Receiver. As soon as you use the Tele Controller a code protection screen appears. Unfortunately this has not been cracked

From memory you should encounter another code protection screen on either Level 6 or Level 7 (Disk 4). I'm sure that this is also not cracked...

It's a real shame as this version has so many pluses. Is there anybody like Galahad, Codetapper, CFOU!, -Rob- or sombody else who can crack this version properly i.e. Disk 3 and Disk 4

Level Codes
Level 1: WIND
Level 2: SPIN
Level 3: KAVA
Level 4: HIRO
Level 5: TEST

Thank you musashi9, much appreciate

However, you say this is Disk 1? One Level 5 it's using Disk 3 and I believe that it's either in Level 6 or 7 (Disk 4) when the protection comes about again. Disk 1 is not asked for what-so-ever... Would these Disks 3 + 4 not need to be cracked instead?

Also, downloaded your file but had an error when trying the extract it (see below)
