Playing mp4 and other video in OS 4.1 on winuae?

Hi,
How can I play mp4 video files in OS 4.1 in winuae? So far I've failled to find a way to do it. Do I need to set anything up in the OS before it will work?

Is it something that can be done in OS 3.1?

use amigaAMP
http://www.amigaamp.de/download.shtml

you need the following libraries for any problems:
faad.library
mpega.library

if you can't find them, ask

you can also use amigaAMP internal decoder

Also included is the configuration of Odyssey to view videos on youtube
if you want you can use YT or AIOstreams to directly use mickJT-mplayer without using the internal Odyssey player in this case videos can be seen perfectly

YT and AIO setup is not included in this video

here an example of YT and AIO to watch videos with Youtube TwitchTV etc.

here another example with 720p video depends on your processor

Also you can use VideoThumbnailer to preview your video collection and directly play mp4 video etc.
here the program.
http://os4depot.net/share/graphics/i...humbnailer.lha

I take this opportunity to thank Thomas Kölsch for creating a fix that makes the program work with winuae without any problem.

If you have difficulty configuring it, please ask
here the sample video:

Hi Actually I'll have to take that back. Unfortunately the audio in videos disapears towards the end of the video.

Perhaps it's something to do with the audio settings or anohter configuration in the OS. I'm nt sure.

the problem you described is generic that audio you have chosen sb128 fm801 or paula etc. ?

once you have finished installing the 4.1 system, other things must be configured, for example the mixer must be updated.
here you can see a good 4.1 configuration where you can see all configuration including network audio and update 1 & 2 update and also how to configure winuae etc.
instead of "voodoo" you can choose picassoIV or UAEGFX

I hope it will be useful to you:

as you can see the installation time is 30 minutes including all network audio configuration and 1 & 2 updates etc.
it actually only takes 10 minutes.
but the installation was done slowly on purpose
I'm glad if it can help you :-)

Thank you for that ---
Tried it on an Emulation of my old system = Just AGA = No Go
But AIAB works ! (See Grab)

But it did want (not need) an Assign to AmiFTP ?

Hi,
I followed the video except installed picasso rather than anything else. Everything was doing fine until I tried to edit the startup sequence file to change it to C:BOOTLOADER "NoRamPager". On booting I got an error with a failed boot. - ERROR: Cannot parse arguments from command line C:BootLoader failed returncocode 20 -

I think it must be how I configured winuae or a missed step in the installation but I'll have another go. I'd try yo use the voodoo setting but in the version of winuae I'm using I don't think it's available. It's not a beta one.

perfect do not use voodoo and completely experimental and you would not have the same performance as picassoIV or UAEGFX

if everything works for you then you should switch to "UAEGFX"
make a backup of your .hdf first

ask if you are having difficulty

I understand that not everyone today devotes their time to help others in some way.
but this is not my case as well as that of many people who frequent this forum :-)

put this driver in sys: devs
and then select uaegfx at 128mb in winuae
and reboot
write
screenmode from the shell
and select the uaegfx driver for example 1024x768 32bit or 1920x1080 32bit
tell me if everything works for you

also leave picassoIV in sys: devs
you can always boot with PicassoIV if something goes wrong without changing anything.

use this RTG table with uaegfx:
8bit *
15/16 bit
24bit
R8G8B8A8
Attached Files
File Type: rar gfx.rar (10.0 KB, 82 views)

FFPlay It does not require any Assign AmiFTP, to require Assign AmiFTP is the ixnet.library (if installed)

Yes FFPlay needs RTG Screen, if you don't want the Keys GUI, you have to add in the Tooltype the parameter

GUI=0 -> WindowsMode:

FullScreen=1 -> FullScreen:

Or you can use a script (Name PlayVideo) and use it on project icon:

WindowsMode:

.key fname
run >nil: c:ffplay -gui 0 "<fname>"

FullScreen:

.key fname
run >nil: c:ffplay -fs "<fname>"

if everything works fine you can add E-UAE
great application to include with 4.1
I have done various tests over time and videos here you can see the last one with two demos for 040 and 060.
most of the demos are supported and are enjoyable to watch
currently if I put the full screen my capture program splits the files but the speed remains the same even in full screen.
so E-UAE works in window but also in full screen at the same speed .

Hi,
I installed uaegfx in sys:devs:monitors and booted up. It seems to work from the start. I am able to change resolution ok. I didn't have to try to use the shell. If I change the RTG settings to what you you suggest I have a purple square around the mouse cursor and videos have a blue tint.
Things seem ok with the following
8bit*
R5G6B5PC(*)
(24bit)
B8G8R8A8(*)

It could be that it's not working exactly as it should and I'm missing something but so far it seems ok.

@steveis2
currently this is not important
you can also use the RTG table
8bit *
all
all
all

make a copy of your .hdf
if you want you can change a lot over time and add many programs

have you tried to see if the videos now work fine until the end with audio?

I read that you were looking for a program to listen to internet radio
tunet is a great program

there are alternative solutions like this:
http://os4depot.net/share/network/misc/mediavault.lha

even AIOstream is capable of making you listen to internet radio that is more difficult to set up

you need amigaAMP to run it

over time you will be able to evaluate if it is worth buying additional packages
it is probably best that you get experience with 4.1

you could also just use amigaAMP and make yourself a radio list
but currently the easiest is MediaVault

here the video with MediaVault currently the channels are not many in your local language but it is a good start:

here instead AIOstreams (RADIO):
