Not sure what you mean, as the roms are already extracted and will in a folder on CD / Download for use with Amiga Forever.

Unless your talking about them being encrypted. Then you could boot up amiga forever and install a rom ripper, which can be obtained from aminet.

If you have Amiga Forever installed the roms are in your Public/Public Documents folder (PC). IDK where on the CD the roms are are but they don't need "ripping"

You're looking in Amiga Files/Titles/Systems which contain .rp9 Amiga Forever runtime files. (Containers of an Amiga + disks)

Go up 2 tiers in file manager to Amiga Files - then click through Amiga Files/Shared/roms.

Well you are in the right folder which has around 37 roms included. You may need to rename a rom for Retroarch IDK.

Try kick33180.A500 filename without the .rom extension.

AFAIK the roms are shipped encrypted -- you have to install AmigaForever to your windows host (I use WINE coz linux =), and then run amigaforever.exe at least once to decrypt the rom files, then you should be able to copy them about as per normal ...you can rename if you want, but it's not necessary ; they are identified in the software via MD5 sum, not filename.

Path to the rom files (linux/WINE specific) is 'drive_c/users/Public/Documents/Amiga Files/Shared/rom' .... encrypted filesizes;

Code:
ls -l

I have run Retroarch with the Dolphin core for Nintendo Wii emulation on an Xbox and it wasn't very good with the early release needing Developer mode on the Xbox to run. Framerates were non playable too for games like "The Last Story"

With the Amiga romset, giantclam may be right if you haven't run Amiga Forever yet.

I haven't really tried retroarch in depth, but I did have a dabble with Lakka ...and I came away with the same impression ~ these are great emulation 'suites' (for say a dedicated machine), but I don't classify either as a 'desktop app' kinda thing ...and a lot of the time their 'cores' are a little while behind where the emulation engine they're based on is 'today' ...ie; OP states it's win11 as host OS, and I'll make a wild guess the latest WinUAE offering is much better than the PUAE core part of retroarch....

...as for the AmigaForever roms... I'm not sure if it was AF9 or AF10 releases they started doing that, but previously you could just copy roms direct from the disc (without installing AF at all),...which is why it caught me out <grin>

I think these days if you've got an Android device, easiest/quickest route to Amiga roms is to buy the Cloanto Amiga Essentials from google playstore for $2, and copy the files from your m'phone =)
