Art Department Pro, .jpg to .iff conversion issues

Hi!

I'm following The Guru Meditation's excellent guide to using ADP Pro to convert jpg's to .iffs for use in DPaint.

[ Show youtube player ]

However I'm encountering an error when I use the loader to open the jpegs:

Error! This Operator requires an FPU

Art Dept Pro v2.5
WIN UAE with A1200 AGA stock settings

Also tried on MiSTerFPGA minimig with the same error.

Not yet tried on my real A500+, that was next... just wondering if anyone might know why this would happen?

I did get this to work some months ago without seeing this error, so I feel it's perhaps a config issue

Searched here for AD Pro threads, there's one re. converting jpegs but nothing related to this error.

Many thanks and best wishes!

You need to enable FPU in the "CPU" settings.

If you have jpg images (png, gif or bmp too) in medium resolutions, and you want to edit them in DPaint, you don't have to convert them. Just use HappyDT (preferably look for a cracked version ), which allows DPaint to load such images directly.
Example: Deluxe Paint & HappyDT

This is great info thanks, both solutions look good.

There's a great online tool which works in-browser to conver jpeg's to iff with a good amount of control over dithering, colour depth and such too:

http://tool.anides.de/

just close the demo image, click in an empty space and you can upload your own.

Great to have to option to open jpegs on Amiga directly though in DPaint with HappyDT, I'll check that out for sure! Looks amazing.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the tip on this software! However it seems there's little chance of finding a working version, both the website and email address on the .lha page linked seem defunkt now - shame as that looked really useful!

For now, I'll use the web browser conversion method which works well too. HappyDT looks like the holy grail here though, great to be able to open jpegs in DPaint like that, very cool!
