A1200 & External GoTek

Hi Folks,

Thinking about using an external gotek on an A1200 as DF0. Wondering where to run the long ribbon out of the case. Ive still got a modulator and plan on using the rear expansion hole/cover for a MK3 Indivision. So, I am a but stumped. Any good ideas?

Option A:
Remove the Modulator. Buy a new rear shield piece from Centurion Tech ( https://centuriontech.eu/product/a1200-io-shield/ ) with a VGA out. Still use the rear expansion port for the Floppy cable.

Option B:
If the Floppy Cable is long enough, remove or replace the underside trapdoor cover and feed the cable that way underneath the Amiga.

Or use an external floppy case, i had 2 still with my old setup.
that's what I did. i replaced the floppy drive with the gotek and just connect it to the floppy port.

Okay. But does that make it work as DF0? If you are plugging into the rear floppy port this would make it DF1 surely?

I just ran it out from a floppy slot. You just need the cables to be long enough to put Gotek wherever you want it.

Yes, you would need a boot selector to make it DF0, and that is not that easy on the A1200/A600.
