Anyone remember A Bit On The Side PD? (A.B.O.T.S)
Does anyone remember A.B.O.T.S PD?
I used to get my demos from them back in the early/mid nineties and would love to see one of their old catalogue disks again, just for the nostalgia |

Yep, I sure remember them very well. The guy who ran it was from Kirk Sandall (Doncaster) – Dave Robinson. I used to live nearby and was attending Art College at the time, but also creating graphics on my Amiga .
I sent some through to Dave and he really liked them, so he asked me to create some for the ABOTS disks. I did a few title screens and some GFX slideshows etc – I was well chuffed to see my art on the disk, and even better in the Amiga mags especially CU Amiga! Great times! |

I used to create a lot of gfx on the Amiga too. Maybe I should have sent him some as well.
How much were the disks back then? Couldn't have been much what with me being a skint teenager. |

That 3rd screen (bottom) definitely seems familiar.

That’s great – definitely not the intro gfx I did though . I drew an ABBOT (hence ABOTS), asleep over a brandy keg, after having his fill . Probably dates from 1990-92 I’d say.

Sorry to ressurect an old thread.
Was wondering if anyone has got some Bit on The Side PD disks laying around. The one I'm looking for is basically a copy of Anarchy - Reflections by 4Mat, but with a better menu (no need to reset to change tune). http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=9203 Each song used four flashing horizontal blue bars across the screen to represent the 4 channels. I remember using it so much as a kid the disk eventually died on me. |

I remember seeing A.B.O.T.S. from the menu in the second picture but not knowing what they were, and the third even less. But yes, if that sort of demo was possible on Amiga, I was sold! |

I know this thread was started almost 2 decades ago... But I do have a couple of ABOTS disks. One is a catalogue disk 1704 and the other is "Utopia IV" disk no. 751 which contains a slideshow of nudes...
Please don't judge, I was a young teen at the time I can throw them in the Zone if they are not objectionable. |
