I would have removed the MFM format as well, but literally, if its the same other than the disk format as the original release, then there was no point.

Even if there was a miniscule bug fix would have warranted it, but, well, its useable on real and emulated now which it wasn't before

Yes tested on A600 and it booted perfectly. I doubt there would be any need to do anything for this game. It would be interesting to know if the original game used same format and if not why the new format in this version?

Same MFM format and track protection read, but booted from bootblock.

Disk format was changed so it could have an AmigaDOS filesystem so "loader" file could be altered once you entered right code.

On that basis... is there a way to keep a game uncracked but with trainer? Lol

yes, a solution would be to find the right code to enter instead of cracking the game.
We then add it in a text file, given with the ADF or CTraw file or IPF.

Wouldn't work, as the file it needs to rewrite to the disk cant be written to IPF.

The solution we have done is one that solves all issues

Ah ok ! It's a writer program that hides behind this scheme ?

i thought it was like codies games asking for a phone number.

No.

It generates a random code, which when you phone that number, you presumably input on phone keypad.

It then tells you number to enter.

The number decoding is hidden inside an RNC Copylock.

If you got the number correct, it then saves over a new "loader" file over the old "loader" file which then has all the code entry stuff removed.

Pretty nice incentive. Rather than keygen you were able to achieve the same by bypassing the entry itself but this was Amigados so it could be done?

By the same token of writing to disk, you can't write onto MFM the same way and hence trainers would be not be possible?

Another thing I thought of: have 2 of the games on disk: MFM for original and Amigados for hacked if the game was small enough to allow both... and yes I agree, why bother lol.

There is still plenty of space on the disk for a trainer now the original loader has been shrunk by 8kb, there's about 20kb free space on the disk!

That's if anyone wants to do a trainer for it of course!

Can it be copied off other versions of the game or must they be specific for this version?

No, as Galahad says, the original disk used a track loader and was NDOS so no ADOS filesystem to copy files from!

You could try one of these, but depends on how the trainers have been coded: http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/search...blues+brothers

this game uses real files, hidden in the MFM tracks.

Would I need a greaseweazel to copy this game to its disk?

If you install the cracked PowerCopy, you can use my DeviceDrawer files to write it back on a real Amiga, you really need an Amiga with HDD or CF Card though!

I don't understand what a device drawer file is. I do have an a1200 with HDD and pcmcua slot.

Where could I buy a greaseweasel from? There was one on eBay but its now sold.

It's cheaper (i.e. FREE) to install a cracked copy of PowerCopy and extract the BluesBrothersPowerCopy.lzx (in the Zone) to the default DeviceDrawer folder (default SYS:DeviceDrawer) load up PowerCopy, click the Source Drive 0 button to say Source Drive DEV and write it back to a blank disk in DF0: by clicking the big blue START button.

Sounds complicated but it's not if you know how to install software and extract an LZX archive!

Oh I get it. I don't think I know how to do that yet, but I'll start reading this week.
