Two identic graphic cards at the same time using RTG viable?

Hi, I already know it is possible to install and use two different gfx cards under Picasso96 or CGX at the same time, but I was wondering, if it is possible to use two identical cards under any RTG system?

TIA

at the same time?
you can have two identical cards i think.

i dont think it is possible to have them both output at the same time.
but,i think it would be possible if software supported it.

It is possible to have several identical gfx cards with both P96 and CGX, and you can see the output of them all simultaneous of course (it can be switched on/off with tooltypes. displaychain in p96 and passthrough in cgx, IIRC).

Here's an example photo of three PicassoIV cards in one A4000:

@jPV

Truly great!
Really cool setup in that picture

Now how to achieve that softwarewise? I mean displaying different screens and working at the same time. How does Picasso96/CGX distinguish each gfx card from the other?

Just modifying those toooltypes?

Could you please elaborate a bit more?

Thanks again

You get different screenmodes for different cards, then you just select wanted screenmode from different programs. In screenmode selectors you see modes like PicassoIV (1) and PicassoIV (2) or something like that to recognize to which card output will go.

When editing screenmodes with P96mode for example, you had to "attach" all cards from pulldown menu first, IIRC.

Nothing in tooltypes regarding this.. tooltypes just have that one option either to switch non active outputs off or not.

Otherwise it's just basic tuning with P96mode or similar config program to create modes you want to cards you want, and then take them use elsewhere in programs' settings. Just the same like with one card.

I don't have several gfx cards setup myself now, so I can't check exactly how it went or how everything was named...

Here's an another photo when we run three dynAMIte clients + one server on one A4k http://saku.bbs.fi/yhdistys/tapahtum...at/vk09_18.jpg

Thanks for the information.

Playing dynAMIte that way is certainly awesome.

I am thinking in doing a dual display DraCo with two Altais gfx cards whenever I get a bit more time.
