CacheCDFS problem, cd0: uninitialized
I want to use OS3.9 included cdromdriver because a registered copy of idefix gave me some troubles while messing around with big IDE hardrives and PFS3 ... I am already not sure anymore why I ruled it out in the startup-sequence.
Anyway, after that I installed Asimcdfs 3.9 but that one hanged while mounting the drives 50% of the time I booted. So I decided to use OS3.9's build in cdromdriver. Now I have this problem. If I boot with a cd in the drive it showes up fine, however when I eject the cd the icon does not go away. Also when I don't boot with a cd in it I get cd0:uninitialized.... What I did so far is removing the cachecdfs that was in L:, all cd0 icons from previous cdrom software and reinstalled it ... but to no avail. What Am I missing ? The drive is a scsi one on a DKB rapidfire. Last edited by SimonV; 26 October 2016 at 18:47. |

Ah, problem solved. AmigaOS3.9 installer does activate the SCSIdirect by default. Removed it and it works now.

I think it depends on the controller like it mentioned in the "help" file during installing. And I think so also because I have two different drives ( a plextor writer and an older Compaq cdromdrive ) and they both acted the same.

Run Prefs/CacheCDFS and untick SCSI direct, then click on save.
