I used it and it worked ok for me. It rotated the whole shape, so yes, around the middle.

MidHandle is not changing/determining something here, it's just to set the handle afterwards for blitting.

The result, most of the time, is not beautifull (in non 90 degree situations), but hey, even photoshop doesnt rotate lowres shapes in small angles beautifully as I recently found out...
Where is your rotation axis located? Want to share a pic?

In some sources i find usage of NPrint"\nSomeText"
However my current installation of AB3.7.3 just prints "\n" and no linebreak there.
Was this removed or am I missing something here?

You need to escape the newline sequence with a second backslash, so NPrint "\\nSomeText" should work. Also, it requires optimize 4 to activate the new syntax mode.

I'm sure I've seen it in at least one of Thilos Sourcecodes with a single backslash. So I fired up BB2 to check if it works there, but it won't also.

However using the syntax you described it works fine, thanks!

Cool Yeah, it was one of the new AmiBlitz3 additions. What you might be seeing is that one of the backslashes is getting eaten by AmigaGuide, so if you view the documentation, it might only show a single backslash. Just a guess though

Why sometimes compiled executables require env: assigned?

(I hope it's okay if I ask another question in parallel)

Do the dimensions (wxh) of bitmaps that I load (and show) have to be multiples of 8?
(bitmap..., loadBitmap ..., initCoplist..., displayBitmap...)

Edit: Had overlooked a bug which prevented correct bitmap display. Other sizes work too, nevermind.

Can I use powerpacked mods with Blitz? Will it work just with pp.lib in libs perhaps or something more would be needed?

You'll need powerpacker.library and then convert the fd file for use in blitz

Does Blitz (or one of the expansions on the UBB CD) have a map editor, tile-based?

There is the editor named REDMapEditor. I can warmly recommend Tiled though, it's soo good. I have made a binary converter for Tiled so you can convert the maps to a format that works in Blitz: https://gamephase.itch.io/tiled-to-binary-converter-2.

FindScreen 0
Loadpalette 0...
Use palette 0

Should work. I used that approach but with wbtoscreen and it worked.

Can I have more than one customstring, at different ypos of course?
For now, when I add second customstring, first one no longer works.

How do you get text to wrap in a window you've opened, rather than have it "fall off" the edge? I'm sure I used to know, but can't remember for the life of me!

You can open a messagebox with some text and one button with "Request".

Can you open a messagebox with 2 buttons like "OK" and "Cancel" without having to define a window and all its properties and gadgets?

You can't really when you print directly to a window. You could print to a bitmap and display the bitmap in a window, that should get the result of wrapping horizontally. But if you just want text output, it's probably best to simply output to a console window so all the resizing, horizontal wrapping and vertical scrolling are handled by the OS.

Yep, the Request() function allows you to use any number of gadgets by separating them with a vertical bar (pipe):

Code:
result.w = Request("Test", "Please choose an option","Continue|Hold|Cancel")
The number returned in result will correspond to the gadget clicked. By convention, Amiga requesters have the cancel option at the very right. This one will return 0, then the rest of the gadgets will return 1, 2, 3 etc. starting from the left.
