Put a dot in the middle, press the heatsink in place, see whether the thermal paste spreads out widely enough, add thermal paste if not.

Jope, a good idea
I want to know if a thermal adhesive is also valid |

Use thermal adhesive only if the heat sink has no other method of fixing it in place, because it will not be as effective as a good quality thermal paste.

I do not understand,
There is a separation between the heatsink and the CPU, Therefore, not having pressure, pasta does not extend, just a slight touch. |

Seems like you either need to adjust the heatsink so that it lies flat, or you have to remove all other fasteners and use thermal adhesive.
If the heatsink isn't flat against the thing you want to transfer heat from, the thermal paste will work as an insulator instead of a heat transfer compound. |

Thermal paste is not a good heat conductor, although it is a lot better than air.
One should always use as little as possible between a chip and heatsink, but enough so that it covers the entire contact area. If there is a small gap between the heatsink and the chip, you will have very poor cooling performance, even if it is filled with thermal paste. |

Jope, Demolition: for that reason I do not understand
Would have to be full contact, but it is the original design Phase 5 Pressed with your finger to test, like you would with the cooler installed, impossible to adjust more, not flat Last edited by vitux; 05 July 2013 at 12:33. |

Are you sure it is oriented correctly?
Otherwise maybe there could be a heat spreader missing between the CPU and cooler? |

It looks like the smaller 603 with the exposed core and the cooler appears to be laying flat as it should and the paste has spread nicely. Don't expect any significant pressure from the clips, they just hold it on.

You could do this trick to the Phase5 heatsink to make contact to ppc chip:
I have it like this on my BPPC. |
