Mark Ferrari Slideshow released
Hi,
I have recreated the html5 canvas color cycling demo on Amiga (AGA). It's a collection of high resolution animated artwork by Mark Ferrari. Hope you like it. https://privat.bahnhof.se/wb800787/pub/DLT-MF10.LHA [ Show youtube player ] Cheers PS. I tried posting this in "News" yesterday but that didn't seem to work. Clicked on web link and it looked great! Can't wait to test these on my A1200 on CRT!
If I'm lucky it might be later today... |

I'd seen some of these pallette cycles in the Hollywood 9 example code on my MorphOS box but that doesn't diminish the quality of the art.

Great idea, I will try it later.
I often view these animations in Deluxe Paint. Original .LBM files are available at the bottom of this page: https://github.com/jtsiomb/colcycle/wiki (*.zip files). Just open in Deluxe Paint V, let it change to the interlaced mode 640x512x256 and press F10 to hide the UI, and then press TAB to start the color cycling. |

Playing in DPaint on Amiga probably won't work because it only supports 8 ranges per image |

Its not me that ripped them, all credit to John Tsiombikas or whoever got these in the first place.
I dont know how he got the LBM files, I always thought they were re-creations from the JSON files that the html5 site uses, but since what you wrote I'm not so sure. The cycling in Deluxe Paint V on an A1200 looks fine to me, but I never looked that closely so you might be right, its not 100% accurate. |

This is great, looks fantastic on a CRT and also works as a screensaver. Thank you!

Would there be any way to make it run centered on screen (as per Overscan prefs or something like it)?

For some reason it doesn't run from WB (guru) but from CLI and without startup-sequence going into WB it works like a charm.
btw. can SHUFFLE method be more random ? it does shuffle, but every time it shuffles into the same order. |

I had a similar problem using an Indivision ACA MK2cr and I had to check the resolution for my interlaced modes. I did change something and now it works well, perfectly centered and in fullscreen.

It uses the mouse pointer position as random seed, so if you start from CLI without ever moving the pointer it will be the same every time. There are probably better ways to get a random seed. Does anyone have suggestions?

Nice, really nice some of them. The waves lapping on the rocky beach scene especially would make a great background for an AGA beat 'em up with a pair of massive AGA sprites per character.
Reminds me of the CD32 20,000 Leagues demo from James Sachs. |
