[Solved] dat files
Hi.
I am new to using FS-UAE. I downloaded new dat files from Retroplay, but cannot figure out where to them. Thank you for any help you may have. Last edited by FrodeSolheim; 13 October 2019 at 17:32. |

You don't / can't use them directly in an emulator; you run all your base files through a ROM manager program like ClrMAMEPro or others. |

I've already given you a link to my preferred ROM manager i.e. ClrMAMEPro
...but I think you're getting confused. I don't know how else to put this so am really repeating what I've already said. Any DATs that you download cannot be used directly with any emulator. They are for use in a ROM manager only; in order to check / verify / rename / fix your sets of files. So for example with Retroplay's DAT. You would download all WHDLoad packages and then use a ROM manager with DAT to check / verify / rename / fix them or find out what you're missing. |

Sorry DamienD.
I thought that was just for Mame files. Now i realise that it does loads more. Sorry for confusing you. Thanks. |

That's ok
Yes ClrMAMEPro originated to handle MAME ROM sets but can be used for TOSEC / Amiga / Console etc. also. |
