Shadow of the Beast CDTV ISO?
I notice there is a Beast3 ISO, for CD32 I think, but does anybody know of a CDTV compatible ISO of Shadow of the Beast 1?
Having a few problems with the Gotek and unfortunately all the 1000s of disks that came with various Amigas I have bought over the years are devoid of this game any my original disks will not load. So my only real option is to burn a CD-R and play it on my CDTV multimedia setup. |

CDTV, so 1mb RAM, ECS chipset, standard CDTV multimedia setup with keyboard, floppy and mouse.
Beast 1 is a 512k KS 1.2/1.3 compatible game but I don't know if my CDTV is KS 2.0 or KS 1.3 type Workbench as I never booted up a Workbench floppy with it to see the GUI look it puts out. |

Well if it's a standard 1.3 1mb CDTV and you want to boot from CD better ask Jtod but it's a 2 disk game so bit tight.
If You have a floppy drive just boot from that. |

It works on CD32 with 2MB RAM using CD32Load by JOTD (See below 3hrs 40 minutes)
[ Show youtube player ] If you invested in an 8MB FastRAM card that plugs into the diagnostic port (or a 1MB ChipRAM card that plugs into the Agnus socket) then you might be able to play it using cd32load by JOTD? |

I can't make floppy disks, unless there is a CDTV ISO with all the tools to do that, because I have no working A1200 and no working Gotek

You could quite easily create a disc/CD containing the ADFs ready to be written to Floppy Disk.

I would need a CU Amiga, Amiga Format booting cover CD as a start point I guess, and then I would need to know what programs and any supporting libs to put on the ISO image. I did think about whether I could make a CD like that, remove all the programs etc from the coverdisc and just fill it up with loads of ADFs I want to make working disks out of. That might be beyond mine and my PC's skillset though.

I found the Amigajay ISOs on Archive.org a while back before they disappeared and I would have downloaded it if it was on the list.
I think that's where I found It Came from the Desert working ISO, not sure as it's been a while. |

Shadow of the Beast can't run with JST on CDTV: not enough memory, too much data to load for 1MB.
I wanted to create cdtvload but stopped at adapting the CD32 cd loader to CDTV. It read CDTV sectors, but not ISO format and it ended here. If someone wants to help to write/adapt a ISO driver (in C or asm), welcome! |

I will just have to wait until I can get my bank and Paypal to like each other so I can write out some ADFs of games I actually want to play on my A1000 later lol

Someone has created a version of AGS for OCS kick 1.3 lately I've not tried it but you could create a nice menu for writing ADFs instead of starting JST/WHDload
https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php...57#post1611457 be pretty good for 1 disk games just use the same disk over and over again - and not too bad for 2 Disk games. i.e Please insert Blank Disk 2 Writing Please insert Blank Disk 1 Writing Press Fire when ready Reabooting - Start Disk in drive Last edited by Retro1234; 15 May 2023 at 13:31. |

In my case with my A1000 always on the desk but the CDTV mostly in the box it's going to be sooner doing it via a new Gotek + Xcopy on my A1000. I have an external drive with a dead drive motor so it's perfect for the job of writing out new disks.
I probably have 1000+ DSDD floppy disks from a huge cache of coverdisks and the rubbish copied games/apps that came with all the bundled system to buy the many Amigas over the last 2 decade I have acquired via bundles Disks I have, decent games to run on my A1000 I don't lol |
