Oops, I am in error. You can't use page mode either. Ramsey requires Static Column RAM for both PAGE and BURST mode. This also means A3000s are the only machines which can use either of these modes.

Wouldn't that apply to A2000's with an A2630 as well?

What apply? A2000 + A2630 doesn't have a RAMSEY.

Yep, the A2630 never had a RAMSEY. Actually, the A2631 got the RAMSEY instead.

Sorry guys. - I was a tad narrow minded in just thinking along the lines of Static Column type memory.... Sincere apologies.

A2631 eh! - Having owned two A2630's back in the day, it just goes to show you're never too 0ld to learn something new!

Sorry for a bit off-topic;
but I suddenly started to have some problems with some WHDload Games
(Ufo Aga & Jaguar XJ-220) and running some memory tests detected
some errors on my Chip Ram.
I changed the Chip Ram Simm (was one-sided Hyundai 60 ns with Chip jumper set to 8 Mb!)
to an old 2-sided 2 Mb one (speed unknown);
for some reason that Simm also gave some errors with the first mem test run,
but got passed several times later and seemed to work fine
(for example, running Capital Punishment fine!).
Today, when I first swithced my machine on and booted with AmigaTestKit floppy,
the errors were there again (some 16-bit and 32-bit bus related...??!).
I rebooted the machine, booted the OS from Hd and all fine, no errors.
Could this be a bad contact with the Simm; a damaged trace or something..?!
I had Indivision Aga (mk 1) and Ratte Switch installed to my machine recently;
the Cia adapter piece of Ratte Switch has some physical contact problems,
could that and/or Indivision be potential causes for my Chip Ram problems..?!

A4000 ram

Yes, there could be a bad contact between the socket and the SIMM; brush both with a tooth brush and wipe the SIMM contact s with alcohol (+/- De-Oxit the Socket).
